Background:
The origins of these swords are unknown, only known are the legend and rumors. They are the Weapons of a Warrior,
a Warrior who became king.
Some say that the warrior made a deal with a demon for weapons powerful enough to win a kingdom and these are
the weapons given to him. Some say they are possessed other say simply haunted, that the spirit of the warrior is bound
to the blades he wielded for so long, unwilling to move on from the battles fought so long ago, but who can say.
They have passed through many hands, their true origins having been lost in shady dealings made in the dark and the
clank of money changing hands. They are powerful, as one such merchant would say, what else do you need to know?
They were given as gifts to the usurper king during the occupation, though no one remembers by whom. He proudly
displayed them in great hall, and then one day ordered them taken down, put into a crate and sealed away, never to be
spoken of again. They have stayed in the royal vault every since… forgotten... waiting.
After the battle of Ostagar, in the confusion and chaos that surrounded the king’s death, a servant took the box that held
the swords and escaped the city with it.
You find an abandoned cart sitting on the road. It is not damaged, there are no signs of attack. The cart is simply
abandoned. It contains only a box that is sealed with the royal seal of the Empire of Orlais. It’s only markings the words
“For Crom” on it. As you go to break the seal you hear what sounds like whispers but pay them little mind. The box holds
the swords. As you hold them in your hands, it occurs to you that they have not tasted blood in a very long time.
