This mod was made with FO4Edit v3.1.3. Thanks to Elminster and the FO4Edit team. Please watch the video for a good demo of what the mod does.
When firing a weapon in game, I felt like the random ejection rate is way too high, which the shell casings clipping through the weapon model quite often. So I set it much lower, almost so that the random ejection direction is close to 0 (0.05 to be exact, down from 0.45). So there is a little bit of randomness, but not a lot like in the vanilla game.
I also set the lifetime of the spent casings to last 2 minutes long on the ground.
If you use Shell Rain - load my mod first if you want to have Shell Rains 10 minute fGunShellLifetime. Otherwise, load my mod after Shell Rain to have a 2 minute fGunShellLifetime.
This isn't really a super realistic mod (I've shot many guns before - no autos though), so perhaps I will upload a version with a greater shell ejection direction and other tweaks later, but of course less than vanilla Fallout 4. Mainly this is just a personal preference mod I thought I would share.

Thanks to the Shell Rain mod by pauderek http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/870/? for the longer shell lifetime. I felt like 10minutes is way too much, so instead I use two minutes.
