What color is this house? To be honest, I can't quite tell with all that tonemapping in my face.
Oh, there it is.
Bethesda nailed physically-based shading this time around, but then they went and smothered it with tonemapping. Restoring linear color response with this SweetFX preset yields a 1:1 relationship between how bright a surface is and how bright it appears to be on your monitor, therefore, PC master race. If you aren't artsy-fartsy and want to see colors they way they really are, download this.
The white-point remains the same, so no loss of color information occurs. Remember, we're just moving color information around here, so you may see banding if you look at the sun. Don't look at the sun.
INSTALLATION:
Just throw the contents of this mod into your Fallout 4 directory. Makes sense.
Hunt for and peck the Scroll Lock key to toggle the effect.
My colors used to do this.
Now they do this and I feel much better.
