How it Works
- Find the blacksmith in any major city, they are in the city center, often, banging on an anvil. They are NOT marked when you hold ALT. Note: there may be some cities without a blacksmith, I honestly haven't checked every single city -- adding one is not trivial since he needs a little work area. So far, I have been able to find one in every city I've checked though. Please do not create a bug if you can't find him, just drop a post and I'll upload a screenshot showing where to find him.
- Update 1.0.0.7 You can now buy new parts from the armorer and weaponsmith as well
- You'll be offered up to
6 parts16 parts (that you do not know) per day for purchase, with price scaling with tier. Starts at 100 and goes up exponentially from there with top tier parts costing 1 million. - You may be offered less parts or none at all if you can't afford the remaining parts.
- v1.0.0.4 allows you to configure prices in the config "Buy Smithing Parts.dll.config" notepad works fine to edit (drag -> drop on a fresh notepad)
- You won't be offered parts you already know.
Compatibility
- Tested with 1.4.2, but I suspect it will work well with other versions AND other smithing mods. Let me know if you find otherwise, thanks!
- Update: v1.0.0.5 works with 1.4.3 and 1.4.2 both, no other versions tested.
- Update: v1.0.0.7b tested with game version 1.5 and works fine
- Update: v1.0.0.8 tested with game version 1.5.3
- Update: v1.0.0.9 for game version 1.5.5 -- will NOT work on previous game versions
- Update: v1.0.1.0 for game version 1.5.6 -- will NOT work on previous game versions
- Update: v1.0.1.1 for game version 1.5.7 -- will NOT work on previous game versions
Other Notes
If you're wondering why I didn't use a trade VM, it's because I don't know how (yet).- (update) 1.0.0.2 Mod now uses Trade screen, use config to switch back to dialog mode if preferred
- 1.0.0.4 can show the crafting piece image instead of an example weapon using the piece. Experimental, and not particularly good looking or useful, config setting: createCraftedWeapon
- config file contains all the strings for easy translation. Notepad works fine to edit it
- config file can also set max offers per day (default 16 on trade)
- The blacksmith lies, if you learn all the parts, he will offer you a new list to learn the same day, because he likes money. Also reloading the game gets you a new list of offers.
