About this mod

Tired of the grind? Makes looter and raider parties considerably larger proportionally to vanilla.

Changelogs
Inspired by 51xXabdoXx12's mod "AddMoreLooters", I decided to make my own take on the idea which increases the max sizes for looters and other lower-level bandits proportionally rather than increasing all levels to equal amounts, and is compliant with 1.7.0 and 1.8.0.

This is useful if you find grinding to level up troops with looters/bandits is taking too long, or simply enjoy the feeling of massive, hostile armies slowly rolling around the map at random like in good ol' Pendor.

There are four options:
  • Extra Looters: Roughly 50% larger Looter/Bandit parties.
  • Even More Looters: Roughly 2x the size Looter/Bandit parties (my go-to for late-game shenanigans).
  • LUDICROUS LOOTERS: It's just plain too many Looters (used for the screenshot example).
  • Oh Lawd He's a Comin': 2x the looters in Ludicrous. This is literally a meme. Do not even bother. Totally unplayable (but amusing as hell for a good 30 minutes).

Warnings!
  • Load at the very bottom of your load order to minimize conflicts, also:
  • This modifies partyTemplates.xml. Anything else that modifies partyTemplates.xml may conflict!
  • With ludicrous looters, the game can get a little unbalanced. Looters will hold up chokepoints and stop villagers and caravans from passing, the largest parties may be so large no lords will attempt to fight them, and of course, fighting hordes of looters gets actually pretty boring rather quickly. It also becomes quite a bit more common for lords to get captured by looters if they aren't careful.

Safety!
  • It's completely safe to add or remove this during a game. It will take at least a few days, possibly seasons for looter parties of the increased size to show up. I don't know enough about how BL culls/manages parties, but if you remove it, you'll still find some large bandit parties around for at least some time afterwards.

Tweaking!
  • It's all plaintext and easy to edit if you don't like the values and want to tweak it; just open partyTemplates.xml in the ModuleData folder in Notepad and change the Min & Max values to taste. See the Articles tab for details.
  • Note that the game seems to proportionally increase looter party sizes based on the size of your party, up to at least 5x the number in partyTemplates, so don't go sticking 4-digit numbers in there!

Sharing!
  • This mod can be freely used, modified, and combined.
  • I built this completely from scratch using the files in 1.7.0 as a source; I did not use or work from 51xXabdoXx12's mod's files.
