Behold! My very first weapon mod!
This mod adds a brand new gun to the game, a makeshift pipe rifle inspired by the ones featured in the Fallout 4 E3 gameplay footage.
The gun can be crafted at any workbench using 1 scrap metal and 3 lead pipes (or there's one next to the workbench at the side of Chet's shop in Goodsprings if you're lazy).
The gun is also integrated into leveled lists for low-level enemies such as fiends and powder gangers, as well as merchant inventories.
The gun has similar stats to the 9mm SMG and is intended for lower level players, as I figured a gun made of rusty pipes, scrap metal and wood shouldn't be anywhere near as powerful as a Minigun.
There is also a unique variant called 'Pipe Dream' found somewhere in the world.
Spoiler (highlight to see): Can be found in the train tunnel near Nellis AFB.
INSTALLATION:
I recommend you use a mod manager such as NMM to install this mod, however installing it manually should not pose any issues as this mod doesn't replace any vanilla assets.
For manual installation, drag and drop the meshes and textures folders and the .esp into the Fallout New Vegas Data folder.
UNINSTALLATION:
Remove any files added by this mod using a mod manager or by deleting any of my files manually.
KNOWN ISSUES:
None right now. Hopefully it stays that way. :)
UPDATE LOG:
- V1.5: Added a new, less rusty texture. Leveled list integration now part of main file. Added a unique variant called 'Pipe Dream' (thanks to rennistora for the idea). Tweaked iron sights accuracy. Removed environment maps as it was too shiny.
- V1.1: Integrated the Pipe Rifle into leveled lists for Vendors and NPCs such as Fiends and Powder Gangers. Special thanks to Rowd, darstyler and Trentosaurus for providing help on the topic.
FUTURE PLANS:
I would like to create weapon mods in the future, to allow users to customize the weapon in a similar way to how it is done in Fallout 4, however I am currently too busy to model lots of different mods...
PERMISSIONS:
If you wish to use the assets in this mod for your own mods, feel free to send me a message about it :)
