About this mod
Recruit the X-Men into your XCOM 2 experience! Marvel's mutants love dystopias, so the world of ADVENT should suit them just fine.
X-Men Core file includes the classic mutants, while chronological additions add characters from titles like New Mutants, X-Force, New X-Men, and Astonishing X-Men.

v. 0.8.0
ANARCHY IN THE ACADEMY
Huge update here! The new Anarchy's Children pack offers a lot of pretty major updates. The biggest, as you can see, is the 1980s black leather mohawk Storm.
The Anarchy pack also offers a bunch of new skin-tight options for clothes, which is very important for superheroes, both male and female. Probably half of the characters have received an update of some kind.
The third new update are a pair of mods in the Steam Workshop specifically for superheroes: Masque's Makeovers and the Hero Pack. The former in particular allows cool things like the M tattoo for Bishop, Madrox, and Layla Miller, as well stronger face paints for Colossus and Iceman.
Finally, I've added the characters from New X-Men Academy, which is pretty great for fans of modern X-Men:
- New Mutants: (Surge, Elixir, Prodigy, Wind Dancer, Wallflower, Icarus)
- Hellions: (Dust, Hellion, Mercury, Rockslide, Wither, Tag)
- Other students: (Pixie, Anole, Loa)
- Villains: (Stryker, Risman)
A housekeeping note: For now, I'm not including the team packs like "X-Factor Investigations" as updating a character across multiple packs is a pain in the butt. Once I have the "full" character pool--probably two versions from now--I'll start on that.
TO INSTALL:
1) Unzip to C:\Users\YOURNAME\Documents\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\CharacterPool\Importable or equivalent
2) Open Character Pool from the main menu
3) Import all or selected characters
4) Packs can be added when you want more. For example, start the game with the X-Men Classic pack, when it starts running out of characters, import the New Mutants and they should start showing up.
NOTE: the "X-Men Classic (v)" version is vanilla, and does not include Resistance Pack options. Everything else uses the Resistance Pack, and is what I'm updating.
If you don't have the Anarchy Pack, 0.7.5 is the last Resistance-only collection.
REQUIRED OTHER MODS:
These other mods are necessary for some or many characters.
Vivid Hair Color (Emma, Jean)
NOTE: Vivid Hair Color is replacing More Hair Colors. If you are too, your .INI files will need to be changed--check the Vivid Hair Color readme for how.
Custom Face Paints (Kitty Pryde, Rachel Grey)
Capnbubs Accessories (Deadpool, Blindfold)
Custom Bandana (Deadpool)
Avatar Hair (Marrow, Legion)
Red Headband (Forge)
Cybertech Visor (Cyclops, Mimic)
More Skin Colors (Nightcrawler, Mercury)
Masque's Makeovers (Colossus, Bishop)
OPTIONAL
Hero Pack (Storm, Petra)
TODO for 1.0

Long-term goals:
Alternate uniforms packages, ie:
original X-Men/X-Factor/All-New X-Men; Horsemen uniforms
Age of Apocalypse/Age of X uniforms
New Mutants graduation gear
Organized character packs: Right now I'm trying to get one of each character in the game, roughly chronologically, no duplicates. Once I have a master list, I can get more creative.
For example, Warpath is currently only in the New Mutants/Hellions pack. He could be added to X-Force 1990s and X-Force 2000s. Ideally, he'd have a different uniform in each as well.
Unlocked armor: there are mods that unlock every piece of armor and clothing used in the game, which makes for a *huge* improvement in quality. Unfortunately, they're far too buggy to use consistently with the Character Pool.
BUGS/ISSUES
Personality traits don't get imported with characters
Weapon colors don't stay when weapons change (this is likely a "feature" more than a bug, but still annoying)
MODS NEEDED:
Obviously not all of these are doable immediately, or perhaps even moddable at all, but to get more precise, they're what I need.
Ruby glasses or visor (Cyclops, Mimic)
Glowing eye/eyes (Cable, Vulcan)
Big helmets (Nimrod, Stryfe, Spiral, Havok)
- Male mullet hair (Longshot)
- Female action mullet (everyone in the 1990s)
- Female straight bangs/long hair (Magik)
- Male Jheri curl (Bishop, Sunspot)
- Female long flowing hair (Polaris, many others)
- Male short Caesar (Vulcan)
- Male flowing top hair (Havok, Gambit)
Forehead mask (Kitty Pryde again)
Headband/cheekmask (Jean Grey, Polaris)
Horned helmet (Spiral)
Ranger Claws
Clothing -- just need way more different styles. Everything now has so many pouches that Rob Liefeld drew it. Need spandex, crop tops, tuxedos, trenchcoats, loincloths, and Sebastian Shaw cravats, as a start.
Russian language pack
Portuguese language
Japanese language
American South accented English (Cajun, Deep South, Kentucky)
African accented English

If there are more characters you'd like that I don't have, or tweaks to make current characters look better, let me know! I'm not currently doing alternate costumes, but when that day comes, I will want to hear about those as well.

- New mods allowing alterations of skin color and hair color mean huge
improvements for major characters, like Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Emma
Frost, and Mystique. (Colossus is improved but still not perfect) - Major updates and re-organization of the different pools. The numbered
character pools are a roughly chronological trip through X-Men history,
so you can load them in order, or pick and choose characters. They
include every created character thus far, no duplicates. - I've also started working on making specific teams. X-Factor Investigations
now has all of its major characters. These pools ARE duplicates of
characters in the numbered file. These will be for playing particular
favorite teams. - Added a "New & Astonishing X-Men" character pool, for fans of Morrison/Quitely and Whedon/Cassday's classic 2000s runs.
New X-Men (Fantomex, Xorn, Cassandra Nova, Quentin Quire, Stepford Cuckoos, Beak, Angel)
