In his struggle to survive, he invented tactics to heighten his advantage. Gradually, man created a knife culture which has changed very little as it has cut its way through time. Still rooted in speed, still fluid in movement, still slashing and stabbing its enemies, the knife culture is still alive and deadly."

Pointy weapon man can do book thing good and stuff. Adds a set of perk books which affect knives.
Surviving Sharp Weapons
Volume 1: +25% Range with knives
Volume 2: +15% Damage with knives
Volume 3: 20% slower degradation for knives
Volume 4: Ignore 20% of armor on enemies with knives
Volume 5: Jumping with a knife out uses 15% less stamina
Volume 6: +15% better stealth with a knife out
Volume 7: -15% sound with a knife out when sneaking
Completion: On kill with a knife, +20% run speed & +50% couch movement speed for 10 seconds
Minor Machete fixes:
Machete can knock down opponents now (like other knives)
Machete can now benefit from Night Stalker completion bonus (+200% stealth damage)
1.1 Updates:
Minor adjustments to perk book bonuses
Speed boost UI now displays a timer
