Gears is the Ultimate Mod Settings Manager, allowing mods to easily add settings that can be changed via an in game UI.

Gears is designed to be the Ultimate Mod Settings Manager, giving both Modders and Mod Users easy access to Mod Settings. During the development, Gears has had feedback from a large amount of the 7 Days To Die Modding Community. It has been in development for quite some time with many goals added or removed based on feedback.

Warning

This mod is not Easy Anti Cheat friendly and will require Easy Anti Cheat to be turned off for it to work. It also will only work on servers that have Easy Anti Cheat turned off.

  • In Game UI for Mod Settings
View and Change any Mod Settings for any mod that has support for Gears via custom UI windows

  • Support for World Base Settings
World Settings are tied to the world save. These world settings are synced between all clients on the server.

  • Redesigned Vanilla World Settings window
Mod World Settings can be access when starting a new game or loading a game in the same location as the Vanilla World Settings.


  • Support for Global Settings
Global settings can be changed in the main menu or in game
with the Esc menu.

  • Easy to add new Settings to a Mod
Gears is designed for both users and modders in mind. For modders, it is possible to add new settings via XML or C#.

  • GearsAPI
Access to an API designed to easily create, modify or interact with a mod's settings.


  • Optional
Gears has been designed to be Optional, so it is up to the Modder to decide to make Gears mandatory for their mod or not.

Note:
Quartz  v2.2.1 is required to use this mod. So make sure it is installed or else there will be red errors thrown up in the console.

SMX Menu Users

Gears has built in support for SMX Menu, so no additional Compatibility patches are required to download.

Install and remove

  • Download Quartz and follow the installation instructions for Quartz.
  • Download Gears mod
  • Decompress the mod using WinRAR or a compatible compression tool, like 7Zip.
  • Copy or move the 00000-Gears folder into the Mods folder into your 7
    Days to Die installation folder or in the %AppData%/7DaysToDie folder. Overwrite if prompted.
  • Verify the install by checking that the ModInfo.xml file is located in this hierarchy: "\Mods\00000-Gears\ModInfo.xml"
  • Turn off Easy Anti Cheat, see video below on how to turn off Easy Anti Cheat
  • Remove by deleting the 00000-Gears mod folder inside the Mods folder.

Quartz Vehicle Hud is required on the server for any clients connecting to see
the Vehicle HUD. Any connecting client only requires Quartz to be installed on the client for it to work.
