You can make a rock drill that will drill for resources over time.

You can make the Rock Drill and Gas Can in the workbench
Put the Rock Drill down on soil put the Rock Drill gas can in your hand and right click to fill it up.
The Rock Drill will start to drill.
After some time the Rock Drill will stop and then you can open to see what resources you have
Amount of resources you can get is different each time, some time very good some times no so.
Just refill Rock Drill to repeat .
