About this mod
Portable explosives with remote detonation. Don't like your undead neighbors car? Blow it up from your toilet! Want to expand your base but that pesky wall is in the way? Blow it up from a safe distance! Wanna just cause mayhem? It can probably do that too.

Afaik with my very limited testing, it still works on SP for 1.2; though I have mixed reports about MP (detonation issues); keep that in mind when playing.
[1.0 Desc. Below]:
This was made for V1.0
I've been experimenting with making various weapon mods and I'm most proud of this result.
What is It?:
Remote explosives! Grab the materials, a workbench and craft a detonator and demolition charges!
Technically this is a vehicle; that's how I got the detonator to work with the explosive charges via a custom game event.
However the "vehicle" is pretty neutered; This baby can't be driven, takes no gas, and gets 0 miles per gallon in towns and highways; though you can honk it.
It has a relatively small collision profile; being able to be placed in small areas; I wouldn't recommend stacking them though; the physics can get wonky, and they're volatile.
This mod brings in 5 items; a remote detonator, a regular explosive charge, a (breach) explosive charge, and a bundle kit for each type (denoted by Nitro Crate Icons).
The detonator can be crafted at anytime and has no durability, the explosives however require a workbench.
I pushed for function first; so balancing might be an issue; all recipes (besides the detonator); require mechanical parts, electric parts, gunpowder, and acid; which is probably the most tricky to find.
Effectiveness:
From my (very brief) testing; a normal remote charge will kill Arlene and similar zombies in one blast; while it may take 2 - 3 charges to kill a fat bowler. (This was tested on Day 1 Warrior).
The Normal Remote Charges (Green) have an effective range of 6 blocks; dealing high - moderate general damage to entities and blocks; uses these if you intend to destroy something.
The Breach Remote Charges (Blue); are designed for breaching entryways (doors); so they have a 1 block explosion range; and deal heavy damage to Wood, Metal, and Glass types; while low damage to stone, earth and concrete (to minimize structural damage). Note however that if a POI uses wood flooring; it will damage that too; so I recommend placing those on a building block if you don't want to blow a hole through a floor.
The Detonator can be crafted at anytime; you the player will only need one; it will work for both types of explosives. The detonator has an effective range of 32 blocks; so that means you must be within 32 blocks to detonate your charges.
The Bundles (Crates) are designed to be an economic choice in crafting your charges; since the charges are technically "vehicles" you can't stack them in your inventory without issues; so bundles serve as a means to "stack" 5 charges in one slot; until you open the bundle.
Multiplayer:
I haven't done extensive testing in multiplayer other than testing quickly on a local server. By design the charges should only be detonated by the owner; but I haven't been able to confirm.
This will also likely require to disable EAC; and have the mod present on both the Client and Server.
Modders:
Modders are free to build upon this mod for their own releases; however I have two requirements:
- Do not bundle this mod's assets with your mod; rather list it as a requirement; however .xml edits are fine; and I'd appreciate a small credit.
- Absolutely do not use the art assets in any mod or commercial project without prior permission. (They might be crappy, but I made them from scratch and damn proud of it.)
Installation:
Unzip the folder and drop it into your 7DtD "Mods" folder.
Fun Fact:
You can add a "ceeFour" tag to a vehicle entityclass and that will explode too!
