This mod for game version 1.x returns Trader Quest Rewards to what they were in A21.
Now you actually have the chance of getting to choose from things like weapons as a quest reward option instead of 300 wood. You should see a weapon at least 25% of the time you claim a reward on average.
With this mod, you will have 10 options to choose from each time you claim a Quest Reward. You must scroll down/up to see all 10 choices.
TFP chose to slow item gain in 1.x, so this mod does break their established balance and can be considered mildly overpowered. You will get better rewards sooner through completing quests, so that can possibly shorten the length of your playthrough. However, I believe that choice should be yours if you elect to use this mod.
I made this mod because there were a lot of users who preferred the old quest reward system. Instead of padding out a game unnecessarily, this mod respects your time.
If you notice any issues with the mod, have suggestions for improvements, or observe any mod compatibility issues, please let me know.
This Mod pairs well with:
1. The best AIO weapons pack for 7D2D:
IZY-All in One Gun Pack v4.0
2. If you want to see weapons actually show up in weapon bags, please use:
Sensible Lootz
3. If you want to see special ammo types show up in vanilla ammo container loot, use:
Black Wolf's Better Loot Spawns
4. Do you wish you could play with all of those EFT weapons outside of the EFT overhaul? Now you can! This one adds the weapons, ammo, mods, injectables, first aid, and all of the ingredient components to craft them from the popular Escape from Tarkov Overhaul: EFT Extraction Pack
Installation
If you have never installed a Mod before, start here: How to add Mods to your 7D2D game
There are three options for installation, pick one.
1. Manual Installation
Extract files from the zip-folder: Use Winrar, 7-Zip, or the native Window’s extraction tool.
Then go inside the main unzipped folder (where you will also see the installation.txt there).
Put all of the folders in to the “Mods” folder
Disable EAC (Easy-Anti-Cheat) from the Game Launcher prior to starting the game.
2. Smörgåsbord, a Wabbajack ModOrganizer2 ModList
This list is the modular buffet table of the very best mods available for the game 7 Days to Die.
3. ModLauncher: installing modlets manually with ModLauncher (YouTube).
FNS is not support staff for troubleshooting your ModLauncher issues.
Use the YouTube instructional video Sphereii provided first, to see if you can figure it out yourself, prior to asking for assistance at the ModLauncher Discord server.
Notices:
Notice 1: This mod is only needed on the server side.
Notice 2: If you use other mods that effect Trader Rewards in the quests.xml file, this mod might cause a conflict. I have tested it in my Wabbajack MO2 ModList with 200+ other mods, and it works fine.
Notice 3: Quartz is now a "firm" requirement for this mod.
Notice 4: There is an occasional error when you go to the Trader to claim a Quest Reward, it will sometimes show up blank, or one to three items. If that happens:
A. Scroll the mouse-wheel up and down. Usually that will display the Quest Rewards.
B. If that doesn't work, hit the Escape key twice to back out of conversation with the Trader and try again. It might take a time or two, but will clear. This usually happens if you clear more than 5 jobs in one day, claim multiple Quest Rewards at one time, or when receiving a Quest Tier Completion Reward. It won't show up in the log, and it shouldn't cause any errors, but we are still trying to figure out why it does that.
Mod Compatibility:
This mod is compatible with:
- DoubleBlundy's Bounty Quests
- EFT Overhaul, the EFT Extraction Pack by StallionsDen, and Izy's AIO Weapons Pack.
- Dewta's Hold More Quests
This mod is not currently compatible with most Mods that add new quest types:
- Trader Addendum (only displays 3 choices instead of 5 or 10 as expected)
User reports have stated that this mod does not work as intended with the SMX UI.
Appreciation:
FNS would like to thank the good folks at Guppy's Unofficial 7DtD Discord server for helping him workshop this mod.
