About this mod

This mod introduces a complete gameplay rebalance, new cosmetics, a revamped PvE challenge and optional lighting changes. It also includes an expanded prestige system.

It is recommended to complete the original game (and Downfall) before using this mod.

This mod introduces a complete gameplay rebalance, new cosmetics, a revamped PvE challenge and optional lighting changes. It also includes an expanded prestige system.

Absolver+ is planned to be updated regularly with gameplay tweaks, new cosmetics, PvE adjustments and more alongside the biannual Jade Festival tournaments.


General Gameplay Changes


Moves


-All damage, stamina damage and frame advantage changes to moves can be seen ingame. Many moves have also had their feint point, feint movement and knockback changed. You can check each of these against the dummy ingame for any moves you are curious about.
-10/11f moves have been removed. They might return later if they can be reworked as normal 12/13f moves and even then not all of them may return.
-All 12f attacks are now lights.
-There are no verticals or high thrusts. They have all been reworked to be mid thrusts aside from some high thrusts which have been changed to high horizontal.
-Avoid and parry moves no longer avoid or parry and instead have had their stats buffed to be strong alternate choices to other normal moves.
-Guard Break attacks no longer break Kahlt's absorb, but retain their previous stat theme (stamina-damage focused).
-2 new moves have been added to the game. You can learn them from Marked Ones.

Styles

-Windfall: Windfall is unchanged.
-Forsaken: Forsaken still has the same bug it has in the vanilla game, however its frame advantage on parry has been improved so that it reliably confirms all 13fs, fast 14fs and in certain cases Reaching Mawashi. It also appears to grant even more frame advantage when parrying faster moves, like a reverse Windfall.
-Kahlt: Guard Break attacks no longer break Kahlt's absorb and all 12fs are now lights. Kahlt itself is unchanged.
-Stagger: All Stagger abilities are now 7/0 on block/hit. Frontstagger deals 65 damage and the other abilities deal 90. Backstagger's backwards movement distance has been reduced. Frontstagger is now omniparryable (can be parried from either side).
-Faejin: The feint point of Faejin's side parries is 1 frame later. The Faejin stopper now deals 70 damage and 45 stamina damage. Its advantage is changed to be 6/6 on hit/block. As the Forsaken frame advantage buff applies to all parries, it also affects Faejin's low parry. Faejin low parry will now confirm ~13f+, similar to Forsaken. Faejin's backslips have had their recovery on whiff increased. The backwards backslip has also had its movement distance reduced.

Powers

-Many powers have had their shard cost increased. You can see ingame the new cost of each power.
-Sharp Impact has had its cut bonus reduced to 0.5 cut. It is also now dispellable on hit, like Heal.
-Unbreakable now breaks weapons on hit, like when Downfall was first released.
-2 new powers have been added to the game. You can buy them from the Essence Shop.

Weapons

-Weapons have had their stats completely reworked. You can view the stats of each weapon ingame.
-In general, weapons now deal less cut damage, have less durability, offer more cut protection and are better spread across the 2-5 shard range.
-Blunt weapons have been given generally better stats than cut weapons.
-Gloves have been given generally better stats than swords.
-All masks now have 0.5 innate cut reduction (change done to preserve the cut weapon sound effect, as if a move does lower than 0.55 cut damage the game will play a blunt sound effect). Take this into consideration when checking a weapon's cut damage or cut reduction.


Cosmetics


-A plethora of new gear, intros and a single gesture has been added to the shop.
-Gleam Level 11 gear is only available as drops from Marked Ones.


PvE


-The AI offensive capability for every NPC in the game has been improved.
-The Marked Ones have been replaced with certain player characters. They each drop a piece of new gear and have two new moves for you to learn.
-The overworld bosses have been replaced with certain player characters, but their rewards have not changed.
-Downfall has been modified to be made more difficult, especially for 2-3 players. Downfall fragment rewards have been greatly boosted to reflect this new challenge.


Other


-There is an optional lighting mod available themed after the evening. There is planned to be a new one with every "season" of Absolver+.
-Many new ingame tips are available to help new players learn the game better and to record certain information for people to reference, such as style startup.

Future Content
-New cosmetics will be added regularly.
-Every new season the Marked Ones will be replaced with the latest Jade Festival winners, each adorning their designed piece.
-Every new season their will be a new lighting mod.
-We plan to import external assets and animations to the game as new cosmetics, moves, emotes, etc.
-We plan to learn how to modify maps and add them as new maps to the game.
