About this mod
Adjusts XSDB weapon characteristics to be a single fire, long-range glide bomb making it somewhat similar to the real world equivalent without breaking game balance too much.
- Permissions and credits
This mod allows our lovely in-game XSDB to have a much longer range, and single-fire properties to make it a bit more realistic guide your bombs onto target. This makes it so that it isn't just a slightly suboptimal alterantive to picking a different aircraft and pitching up when dropping a UGB.
Stat Changes In A Nutshell:
Lock on Range : 30000 --> 127500 (Basically 3000m ---->12750m)
Initial Speed: 277 ---> 1500
Spawn Angle Limit: 60 ---> 90
Load Time : 7 ----> 3.5
What This Translates to In-Game :
The greater than 4x Increase in lock on range, allows XSDB to effectively hit multiple targets that may be too far away for all of our in-game unguided bombs and too numerous and too far apart for LACMS/LAGMS/MPBM, thereby giving it a specific niche that can fullfill rather well. Spawn angle has also been bumped up a bit to allow for dive-bombing shenanigens as well as initial speed so that the bombs can reach their targets at range in a reasonable amount of time.
Important : Given that it is still glide bomb with no real propulsion system, you will need to, at the very least have enough altitude on release for the bombs to be able guide themselves onto target. On relatively flat terrain you can generally hit targets at max range with 2000 meters of release altitude. Elevation, obstacles and parts that add to the already modified range may increase or decrease this amount.
Reload Speed has been halved, so you can feel free to install parts for other weapon and plane properties. Speaking of parts, since the damage has been kept the same, it would be recommendable to equip damage parts or alternatively drop two bombs at once in missions like stonehenge in order to ensure Menhir 7 isn't turned into swiss chess by enemy tanks in the time it takes for you to drop another.

Compatibility:
This mod only makes changes to the xsdb player weapon file. So long as one of your existing mods that doesn't alter that this should good to go. That being said, there is a more detailed troubleshooting guide in the Rar file if there happen to be any issues.
