   Having the rifle at the ready position while submerged is patently ludicrous, but I suppose it was easier for them to animate the rest of the body differently without altering the upper body rigging drastically for the swimming anims.

      especially when it isn't even a underwater gun, but I was only going for looks in this case.

      Funnily enough, something in the same vein as the Gyrojet, if using a monopropellant (includes fuel and oxidizer in one mixture, such as Hydrazine or hydrogen peroxide, as used by space craft), would be more useful than a typical gun, and might have better range than a pneumatic spear gun.
