This mod makes the game's poorly designed and unconventional control layout icons more familiar. Designed for Xbox 360, One and Series controllers.
It does not require uMod. (Unlike other mods that do the same thing, which require the use of a background program called uMod to inject textures while the game is running, this mod modifies the game files directly so no additional programs are required.)
✧ Direct Installation ✧
Step 1: BACKUP!!!
Step 2: Copy files from downloaded archive to game folder and replace them.

Direct installation of this mod is incompatible with other mods that want to modify the same files. Files modified with this mod:
"24_-_GameBootstrapSettings.data" in "DataPC.forge" and "1052_-_Animus_ControlsMapping.data" in "DataPC_extra.forge" and "DataPC_extra_dlc.forge"
I finished the legit Ubisoft Connect version of the game with this mod + EaglePatchAC2 and didn't have any issues.
I haven't tested the Steam or pirated versions, but it should work. I'm open to feedback.

Step 1: BACKUP!!!
Step 2: Using AnvilToolkit, extract the relevant ".forge" files from the game folder.
Step 3: Copy and replace the ".data" files in the "Modified files" archive to the corresponding extracted ".forge" folders.
Step 4: Repack the modified extracted ".forge" folders as ".forge" files.

Step 1: BACKUP!!!
Step 2: Using AnvilToolkit, extract the relevant ".forge" files from the game folder.
Step 3: Extract the revelant ".data" files from the extracted ".forge" folders.
Step 4: Copy and replace the ".TextureMap" files in the "Modified files" archive to the corresponding extracted ".data" folders.
Step 5: Repack the modified extracted ".data" folders as ".data" files.
Step 6: Repack the modified extracted ".forge" folders as ".forge" files.
