Your images look amazing, my friend! Assassin's Creed games are on my list to play some day, but I have gotten sidetracked into rebuilding Fallout 4 with a ton of mods for a second playthrough. But I have a question for you. Some games really need a lot of mods to look good (Skyrim and Fallout 4), some games look great vanilla (Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 - although maybe they are newer games?) - amyway... which camp do the Assassin's Creed games fall into, or does it really depend on which Assassin's Creed game I start with??

Haha, even as I type that I realize the answer might be complicated, so please feel free to ignore it.

    Again, great images!

Glad you enjoyed them, my friend

I play almost everything vanilla - except Skyrim. For TW3 I only had a ReShade and a no-Tree mod. I like it already the way it was and it still holds up until today. Cp2077 (vanilla) already is the most visual impressive game to date (on a powerful system). AC_Origins and AC_Odyssey are the best looking entries in the AC saga and I only increased the contrast/brightness for the image upload other than that, you get what you see (on a powerful system )

Thanks for the reply - and it is great news. Meaning... I am way more likely to play the AC games if I don't have to spend a few months (or years) getting them ready to play! Now, in fairness, I DID play Skyrim on the xbox 360 first, and a mostly vanilla Fallout 4... the first time, and they are not exactly modern games, especially Skyrim. Not sure if we should blame Bethesda for the sometimes less than stellar games, or praise them for giving us the ability to have incredible mods to completely remake them. You and I know the answer to that one. Both blame AND praise!

Thanks again for all your support, help, images... and of course - the Heroines!

Steam is having a sale on Assassins creed games the next few days. But I am confused with all the different "editions" for each game. If you have any recommendations for the two games you mentioned, please let me know. Thanks!

Edit: I am thinking Gold Edition for either Origins or Odyssey? I think the Gold Editions include the DLC??

Edit 2: Are these 3rd person games? If so... I may still check them out - but good thing they are on sale! I obviously prefer first-person games, but The Witcher 3 was 3rd person only, and I got used to it... eventually!

Edit 3: Last Edit, I swear! Have you ever played these games without internet? I run Steam offline except for when installing a new game (or rarely to get an update), but I a reading that AC games require another app from Ubisoft that needs to be online at least to start the game. But I am reading conflicting reports about having to keep going online, which is really irritating if true. Maybe I should just stick with Bethesda games... and did I just actually say that?

Unfortunately all ubisoft games require their own app. I tried to start the game both apps in offline mode and it didn't work :/
However, AC Origins and AC Odyssey are beautiful games with Witcher 3 playstyle, the story can be a bit weak, though. There are two absolutely necessary DLC's: for Origins Curse of the Pharaohs and for Odysses Atlantis

Thanks! My current plan is to get the gold edition of Origins. IF I can get it to play offline, I will then also get the gold edition of Odyssey. I read more comments today with some people saying you can for sure go offline once you start the game online, and some saying no way at all. But I did think of something... if I can play them with Steam offline, at least it wouldn't put other Steam games at risk because of Steam updates. Well, I will let you know how it goes. At the sale price for the games, at least I won't be risking much. Thanks for your help!

Final report... I bought and installed Origins, setup Ubi-Connect (or whatever), and started the game for maybe 30 seconds. Then I put both Steam and Ubi-Connect into offline mod, and I was able to start the game again without connecting to either steam or Ubi-Connect (blocked connect attempts through my firewall), and things seemed fine. Now... when I actually start the game some day, will any of this work? Who knows! But... I did also buy Odyssey while still on sale (it expires today if not already expired), and time will tell.

Putting Ubi-Connect into offline mod is basically similar to putting Steam in offline mode. Click on the icon in upper left of Ubi-Connect screen, maybe "start offline" was there, or maybe under settings or something. Sorry, I should have taken notes!

Edit: Apparently, I spoke to soon. The above appears to be true... until you reboot your PC maybe. Then it wants you to logon through Ubi-Connect again. Since I normally hibernate over night on this system, hopefully I will only need to do this once a month when I allow windows updates, and then only if it requires a restart (which it almost always does). But at least Steam does not appear to need to be online, which is my bigger concern. I KNEW I jinxed myself when I wrote this message earlier today!

No need to reply if you don't want to - just letting you know my results. But still... Thanks!
