You'll feel like you are going light speed on your new computer compared to your old one.   Awesome set of pics, your reshade gives a somewhat vintage feel to your screenshots.

Ahead, warp ryzen 9, Mr. Sulu. I hope it's that fast.

Thanks. The game colors, palette is good. I just feel that the green is too vivid and overpowering at times. It's not as bad as the green was in RDR2 Lagras -- swamp green -- but it's still more than I care for. I may have gone overboard with brown and sienna, but it works well for many scenes. I like it.

Chaire. Could be Brasidas and Alexios from the game. I'm not sure what the translation of Chaire is. It's used throughout the game as a greeting. I should ask Olympus.

Thanks. I've never seen a partridge. Looked it up. A partridge looks quite a bit like the quail we have around here.

4 years..... Yaeh - it's ancient....   Mine is about to turn 9! That is the cpu, MB and ram. Next year support for win 10 will stop so I have to build a new one for win 11. I'm counting on keeping my 2070 though. First time I've bought a high end card.
Anyway - a very beautiful set. The aesthetics here are miles beyond anything I've ever seen in a Fallout game

I don't know how many times I've upgraded. Mac, Windows3, Win 95, 98, Milennia, Win7, 10. I used to buy the whole machine Dell, or HP or whatever, but then along came high end 3D graphics and Nvidia GPUs. That completely changed the dynamics. You can still buy factory built "packaged" gaming computers but they are more expensive. Factory built gaming towers with RTX4080 cards, for example, are $3000 and up.

I have an old spinning hard drive in my current system that's been around for more than 10 years. It used to be the C: drive, but now I use it only for docs and pix. Time to retire finally.

    Good job!
So, you're keeping your old Windows install? I would suggest getting the old stopwatch out and timing how long the old system takes to boot now, then again with the new. I'd bet you'll be very happy with the result.
I'm still on AM4(Ryzen 7 something). Coupled with 32GB ram and an RTX 4070, can still run anything at max settings on a res of 2560x1440. Good enough for government work.

It does take awhile to boot. Yes, all the RAM and backplane are faster on the new system. Hmm... keeping the old C: drive -- it's SSD, but probably not as fast. I didn't think of that. Well, there's always another upgrade coming just around the corner. I really don't want to go to Win11.

I'm so tired of hearing the fans scream even at 2K rez when I do something a little more intensive than just standing around. It's terrible for Odyssey. If I pull up the inventory or other info screens -- static screens no less -- the GPU goes into overdrive. Maybe poor design by Ubisoft, but the temp sky rockets -- not good.

Congrats on your pending upgrade!  My liquid cooling sprang a leak in December and fried my 2080, but nothing else so I got a 4060Ti for Christmas with 16 gigs of VRAM (the dude at the store was trying to tell me I would NEVER be able to use that much VRAM.  I laughed in 4K texture replacers), and while we were at it, I got another 16 gigs of system RAM (32 total), and SSDs were on sale at the time so I also ended up with a new 4TB drive.  I think it all came in at just under $600, but that was half a year ago.  Main point is that it's been like having a new rig altogether.

Some nice images here, are these all vanilla or are you using any visual enhancements?

Ugh, I've heard some bad things about liquid cooling. But the folks who have taken care of my computers for years now insist on it for this next rig.
Keeping the old 2 TB C: drive so I don't have to go to Win11, and the DVD drive, but I'm afraid everything else will be new including the power supply and case. And yeah, a bit more than $600 unfortunately.

And a partridge in a pear tree.

I'm using ReShade with my own preset. I wanted to get rid of the bright green found in game in favor of brown and sienna tones. Not perfect, but I've had some success.

Thank you for the list. It will come in handy for inspiration. I'm an Intel man (5820K) but not more than I might be swayed if AMD is better when it comes to that
