About this mod
Face and body paint set inspired by Varang to replace paint of your choice
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
Alterative V1.A and V2.A with face and body paints to be worn separately added in optional files. These are extensions to the main files and contain only 3 textures for their respective version.
Versions and Optional files:
V1 - replaces the first main quest line face and body paints you receive after completing Becoming.
V2 - replaces the side quest face and body paints you receive after completing The Celebration Mural. The face paint is a duplicate and the exact same one can be found at this location in the Upper Plains shown below. There's no duplicates of the body paint, thought similar ones can be found across Upper Plains, use this guide.

If you wish to use the paints separately or combine them with other paints, check out the optional files with edited textures. Please note that these are only an extension of their respective main file (V1 and V2) and do not contain the color pallet or first person arms paint.
V1.A - alternative face and body textures of V1. It contains two face paints: marked as (2) with the face part only, marked as(3) with face and neck) and one body paint marked as (2).
V2.A - alternative face and body textures of V2. It contains two face paints: marked as (2) with the face part only, marked as(3) with face and neck) and one body paint marked as (2).
Installation:
- download AFOP Mod Loader and place it in you game directory (e.g. C:\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\AFOP)
- download the .zip file with the version of your choice off this page, extract it, move the blue folder into the game directory
blue\baked\characterart\player\head\shared\paint - face paint
blue\baked\characterart\player\body\shared\paint - body, first person arms paints
blue\game system data\juice\blueitem - color pallet
Compatibility with other paints and switching to alternative textures:
I've used both of the face paints in retexture packs before, the color pallet too. If you are using Tide or Iknimaya packs, you will probably have items with the same names. You'll need to edit the names of the paints/pallets you temporarily don't want to use. The name of the only active face paint, body paint, first person arms paint, pallet should be:
- p_res_head_paint_01_m.dds, p_res_body_paint_01_m.dds, p_res_arms_paint_01_m.dds, item_customization_player_warpaint_color_002.blueitemtype - V1
- p_vlt_head_paint_01_m.dds, p_vlt_body_paint_01_m.dds, p_vlt_arm_paint_01_m.dds, item_customization_player_warpaint_color_002.blueitemtype - V2
The process of switching to alternative textures is very similar. Alternative textures have a number in brackets in their name, like (2) or (3). First, edit the name of the active paint by adding (1) to its name to disable it, then remove the number and the brackets from the texture you want to use.
Disabling/enabling the pack:
If you wish to stop using these paints and colors, either
- delete the folders leading to these files that contain nothing else/the files themselves - to permanently remove the pack
- rename the folders leading to these files that contain nothing else/the files themselves (adding a single letter will be enough) - to temporarily disable the pack. You can enable it anytime by changing the name back
Important:
This pack can be disabled and enabled/the paints can be switched while in the game. If you have the paint on while doing so, take it off and on (might take few attempts) to see the changes. If it stays the same, an NPC nearby might be using it, move to a different region or restart the game. Color pallet cannot be changed while in the game, you'll need to restart to see the new colors. If you want the paint to replace a different paint (better and easier if store-bought) or pallet, let me know in the comments, use this guide and the picture below to easier identify them.

Hope you like it!
