I watched one of the trailers. It looks good. Somewhat like Skyrim, although someone mentioned that feats of parkour have been added. And being from Obsidian, hopefully the story is good.

Anyway your character looks good so far. I like the outfit. Embroidery is always a nice touch.

Thank you. It's a decent, solid, fun game so far. His outfit is the default starting one, pretty swanky for a change. But he is the Envoy for the Emperor.

He looks great! I am so excited to get in and play tonight. I didn't know anything about the character creation, so I am happy that you like it. Looking forward to seeing more of your photos.

Thanks! I finally started the game and now exploring and reading all the skill trees and notes in-game to see if what I selected will work. I am not big on ranged combat but didn't want to be a fighter initially but the Ranger also had melee, just more finesse. So maybe the Scout (Ranger) will work out.

My only complaints so far are no photomode (boo), and no ability to zoom camera in/out in third person mode. Again that's more for doing images and not a game play criticism. Hopefully Otis will release a mod to unlock the camera. He might be working on it already.

I haven't had combat yet but since it has all sorts of accessibility and game difficulty settings I am not worried about it being too hard or frustrating. I like the look of the game so far and the opening cinematics were really nice.

I have not gotten to skills yet, since I am loving all the options for my look! I'm not sure what I will choose as a class. I'd be interested to know what you end up choosing.

Too bad about no photo mode. I hope they either add one or, like you said, Otis will release one. My character is too pretty not to take lots of photos. LoL

I wonder if we can change difficulty later if it is too hard or easy.

You can change difficulty at any time. Storytelling is too easy so going next one up. I'm getting the hang of combat so may even play on normal for a change. I don't play as much for combat in games. FO4 is the only game I ever play on the hardest mode and enjoy it.

I'm liking the Ranger style although playing more as a rogue/scout, who enjoys stealth and daggers. I've never been big on ranged combat except when using magic. I like how flexible the system is though. I can add in some magic if I want and the ranger class gets a few things like magic.

For now I will focus on stealth, dagger, and bow when it's better to shoot at distance (like across cliffs or when enemy is not within easy melee reach). Rogue tends to be my favorite class anyhow. Still the magic looks fun :)

I started on Normal and one hit puts me down on health a bit, but I just found a new chest piece so will see if that helps. I also started with Scout since it sounded like me - more at home in the wilderness than at court - and am hoping for some sort of rogue-style playthrough as well. I think it's cool that you can choose any weapon and skill tree that you want.

So far, I am really loving everything about it. It is a beautiful world.

I liked scout because of the background too and I didn't want a background that made it sound I was too loyal to the King for taking me in. More like we did each other favors vs. intense loyalty ... as I am probably more of a rebel.

I think the background is more about flavor and dialogue - as already seen a lot of dialogue options related to it (I enabled the toggle to see dialogue choices/impact for a while as I was curious to see what there was ... then later disabled for more immersion).

It might make playing a different background fun with some replayability. But getting way ahead of myself as still in the starting area :P
