Engine.ini
configuration with a fully optimized setup, enhancing performance on low- and mid-range systems without removing visual fidelity completely. Carefully tweaked postprocessing, shadows, LODs, and texture streaming offer a smoother experience, especially useful for users with integrated GPUs like Intel Arc, or older hardware. What was removed:
- Volumetric Clouds and Fog
Disabled to drastically reduce GPU load. - Motion Blur, Lens Flare, Chromatic Aberration
Removed for sharper visuals and better clarity. - Ambient Occlusion
Fully disabled for performance. - Sky occlusion fog and atmospheric scattering effects
Simplified sky visuals to prevent crashes and improve FPS. - NVIDIA DLSS plugin path
Kept in config but unused; works universally thanks to enabled FSR 2. - Excess debug and crash tracing systems
- FSR 2 kept enabled for all GPU compatibility (including Intel).
- ViewDistanceScale set to 20
Ensures distant terrain and enemies are always visible. - Custom color correction
Balanced tone mapping (gamma 1.75) and slight sharpening. - AutoExposure enabled with histogram method for dynamic scenes.
- Cascaded shadows up to 8 levels with high quality settings.
- Full texture streaming optimization
Uses full VRAM, prioritizes visible textures, disables lightmap streaming. - Async shader preloading and threading
Improves loading and stability. - Fixed frame rate at 144 for stable rendering loops.
- Reduced foliage and LOD distance scales
Maintains quality nearby while improving performance at a distance.
