I'll go ahead and list them in order of what categories I've placed them in within Vortex, the name of them, and a short little description if they aren't mine. Hopefully this helps.

BUG FIXES / UTILITIES

1. Astarion Recruitment Fix

  • Fixes Astarion looking away from you constantly when first meeting him.
2. Baldurs Priority
  • Allows the application to be prioritized by your CPU.

3. Dark Urge Banter - Dialogue Fixes
  • Allows Dark Urge characters to react to world events as often as Tav.

4. Easy Cheat
  • An exceptional tool which allows you to do almost anything. Amazing for testing mods.
  • Be sure to also have Volition Cabinet downloaded. I just keep it in the same folder for Easy Cheat.

5. Halsin and Minthara Ultimatum Fix
  • Triggers the cut Halsin/Minthara ultimatum choice if you have both in camp at once.
6. Home Brew - Localization Fixer

7. LSLib/Divine Tool
  • Vortex just has a popup if you don't have this installed. So it's installed.

8. Native Camera Tweaks (HEAVILY MODIFIED)
  • Allows you to move and position the camera in ways that simply is not possible in the base game.
  • I have modified the default settings in order to achieve a close, over the shoulder style camera while not in combat.

9. Native Mod Loader
  • Loads DLL files. Necessary for some mods to function properly.

10. Norbyte's BG3 Script Extender
  • Necessary for many mods to function properly.

11. Owlbear Cub Permanent Aggression Fix
  • Fixes a bug causing the Owlbear cub to not play out it's cutscene at the end of the Owlbear fight in Act 1.

12. ReShade (HEAVILY MODIFIED)
  • Allows for graphical improvements.
  • I've modified a ReShade file for personal use.

13. Show Me My Dream Guardian
  • Fixes a bug causing your Dream Guardian to not appear properly in a specific cutscene.
14. Smart Autosaving
  • Automatically triggers autosaves at intervals that you determine via a config file or MCM.

15. Sussur Dialogue Bug Fixes
  • Fixes dialogue bugs in relation to the sussur flower for various origin characters.
16. WASD Character Movement
  • Allows you to move with WASD, rather than clicking to move.
  • When combined with my over the shoulder camera from Native Camera Tweaks, the game is VERY cinematic.

DICE SKINS

No point in listing descriptions of these, what dice skins people like will be entirely subjective. But here are the names of each. With the three from the base game, this leaves you with a total of 20 dice to choose from. Fitting and pleases my OCD.

1. Astral Sea

2. Carved

3. Dark Urge

4. Dwarven Stone

5. Fireball

6. Golden Death

7. Great Old One

8. Infernal

9. Iron Edged

10. Lolth

11. Moon Maiden

12. Mysterious Artifact

13. Sakura

14. Sealed Dragon

15. Storm

16. Warm Glass

17. White Dragon

GAMEPLAY

1. Bags Bags Bags - Reforged
  • Adds in a ring to the tutorial chest which can spawn a bag filled to the brim with various bags for sorting your inventory.
  • Many bags are auto sorting. Meaning items will automatically go into them when you pick them up.
  • Fantastic for inventory management.

2. Block / Miss Differentiation
  • Makes it so that sometimes when an attack fails, the text will display "Blocked!" instead of "Dodged!"
  • The chance is modified by if you're wearing heavy armour, have a shield, etc.
  • Just a purely flavor based mod. Makes sense that sometimes you would block.

3. Configurable Movement Speed
  • Allows you to change how quickly characters move around in the world.
  • Does NOT affect the game mechanic Movement Speed - it is simply for getting around faster outside of combat.
  • Setting the speed of movement to be 25% or 33% faster makes it feel so, so much better to move around.

4. Custom Waypoint
  • Allows you to create your own custom fast travel points on the map.
  • You may have up to ten fast travel points active at once.

5. Free Respecs and Hirelings
  • Makes respecs and hirelings not cost any gold.
  • I've edited the mod to also modify Wither's dialogue text, to remove the gold cost from it.
5. Gate Stones
  • Introduces four Gate Stones to be found around Act 1.
  • You can use a gate stone to warp to the other gate stones.
  • It's just like the pyramids from DOS2. Super well made!
6. Home Brew - Comprehensive Reworks

7. Killable Children
  • *laughs in Durge*

8. Level Curve Adjusted
  • Adjusts the leveling curve to be a little more front loaded. Getting to level 3 is a bit faster, while later levels are slower.
  • I use the "Base" file.

9. No Pickpocket Investigation
  • Makes it so NPCs will not walk around accusing people after being pickpocketed.
  • Will still do so if you fail the Sleight of Hand check, of course.

10. Non-Lethal Ranged Attacks and Spells
  • Edits the Non-Lethal status to allow ranged attacks and Spells to work with it.

11. Party Limit Begone
  • Allows you to bring as many companions with you as you want.

12. Remove Debris
  • Automatically removes debris after a few seconds when you do something like breaking a barrel.

13. Sit This One Out 2 (HEAVILY MODIFIED)
  • Allows you to designate party members to "Sit Out", meaning they will disappear during combat encounters.
  • When used with Party Limit Begone, this lets you take everyone with you while maintaining a challenge!
  • I've heavily the script in this mod to remove features I did not want. But it works perfectly well right out of the box.

14. Trade With Withers (HEAVILY MODIFIED)
  • Allows you to trade with Withers. His gold will not run out, so rather than running to vendors, you can simply sell to him.
  • I've modified the "addon" file for this, which normally would allow him to sell gear.
  • My modification makes it so that on every long rest, he will sell three random dye and one random item in the game.
  • Unbalanced? It can be. But my group is rushing to see what he has every rest, and it makes it much more fun overall!

32. Unlock All Recipes
  • Unlocks all crafting recipes from the start.

GRAPHICS / VISUALS

1. Alternate Blood Spatter Meshes
  • Edits blood spatter meshes on your character model to be a little less extreme.

2. Clean and Furnished - Redesigned Camps
  • A collection of camp redesigns that I've found on the Nexus. All of them are combined in this one entry.
3. Correct Weapon Sheathing
  • Edits where weapons (and shields) are placed - overall the edits make more sense to me.
4. Distinctive Dyes
  • Edits the original 41 dye icons to more closely resemble the colors they actually produce.

5. Dye Support for Shields
  • Allows you to dye shields.

6. Gortash's Matching Boots
  • Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

7. HD Githyanki Spots
  • Simply makes Gith look a bit better.
8. High Quality Paintings and Portraits
  • Upscales the quality of paintings and portraits in the world.

9. Izzli's Altered Dyes
  • Edits the way each dye in the game looks.
  • Overall, each dye pattern looks WAY better.
10. Longbows Without Spikes

11. No Shar Symbol Shadowheart Tent
  • Removes the Shar symbol from Shart's tent.
  • She's supposed to be hiding who she worships, so it makes sense.

12. Radial Darkvision

  • MUCH better for moment to moment gameplay.

  • My modifications extend the inventory grid to 10 columns across, along with other, under the hood tweaks.

  • Forces the main menu to stay as the overview of Baldurs Gate, rather than dropping down.

Hey all! Nexus doesn't give notifications when someone comments on my articles, and they don't get checked nearly as often as the regular comments section. If you need anything pertaining to the mod list, please shoot me a message directly, either here on Nexus or preferably on Discord.

Discord username is the same as my username here - HaVeNII7. Thanks!

Hey! I really like the list but I was really interested if how you got the Native Camera Tweaks and how you got those settings to work. Would you be interesting in sharing?

Are you planning to release this as a collection? You have some heavily modified things that aren't available to the public, particularly some of the gameplay additions like the wild magic surges and discordant instruments that would contribute heavily to the rework.

I would also love if these mods could somehow be compiled into 1 download. I know that is a big ask but that would be absolutely amazing

This is definitely possible and actually how I share with my buddies! I'll look into if it would be possible to get something going on the Nexus with it, not sure how it would work as far as mod permissions.

Great list!  It'd be awesome if you made a vortex collection to match what you consider to be the best modlist and load order.  Much easier than loading these one by one.
