Well apparently Astarion was so into the power his Dream Guardian offered him, that the Emperor falsely assumed that there was something more between them, and so Astarion reacted in a knee-jerk manner and called him a freak.
This led the Emperor to finally drop his facade and reveal his real connection with Stelmane, and how it was one of control and how she was simply his marrionette. He then informed Astarion that he was the illithids puppet, and would do what he was told, and if not, then he would be forced to.
I responded in kind and tol him that at the first chance, I would rip his head off, and now...I'm in a delightful place where we are most certainly no longer friends, the fragile peace is gone. Thankfully I passed the wisdom checks due to partaking of the tadpoles, and was able to resist the astral one and crushed it. This little squiddy should be afraid, if only he realized he was destined for a worse fate than Cazador, after i made him beg for his life.
