Baldur’s Gate 3 Clean Uninstall

  • Uninstall BG3 from Steam
  • Delete BG3 game folder: steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3
  • Delete BG3 Documents folder: Documents\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3
  • Delete BG3 AppData folder: AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3

BG3 Documents folder is no longer used, but if you installed BG3 prior to Early Access Patch 7 the folder might still remain. It is obsolete and can be deleted, or left alone.

Do this at your own risk!!! If you accidentally delete the wrong folder, you can cause serious problems with your computer. Remember to also copy any files that you want to save before you delete any folders.

Clean uninstall is the best practice to prepare for the release version of BG3. The release version does not use any EA files, so keeping the EA installation does not help with the download process. Keeping the EA BG3 installation can cause issues, especially if you have installed mods or modded loose files.

    Really kind of you to do this for the people that need to know about this. Just cleaned my game folder and ready for that server crash tomorrow at 11AM EST!
