About this image

The Hobbitses are our friends!

I have way too much to do and zero focus for heavy lifting today...plus the new laptop arrived today. So instead of work, I wanted to have a little fun. Quick and dirty Halfling cloak test to see how hard conversions would be for a stand alone cloak mod. I already had the Halfling body loaded, so here we go...Halfling cloak!

Now, back to my hole.:)

Awww, thanks! I already had the Halfling body loaded in Blender to see how hard it would be to do the armor conversion...turns out harder that I thought and will take a bit of time to get right. The cloak, however, was easy enough. We all deserves cloaks! After I get The Dragonfly complete, I'll do the conversions for the cloak mod.

I can’t imagine.  I am terrible with bones, I only know how to make things using existing bits, so I hope to one day learn how to create it myself.  It seems way easier than trying to find something similar and force it to do something else ha! I wondered when I started playing the game why there weren’t any cloaks, and now here it is! I think you mentioned something with a hood up version.  That is cool, I can visualize it.  Are you able to mod hair into hats, I am not familiar with this game, but in cyberpunk it was annoying.

also once you have the basics for this cloak mod, you can use it to make others easily too, maybe being able to create a cloak store mod with different variations! I’m sorry, I am just brainstorming for no other reason than personal lol. I mean I am not telling you what to do, just excited about your work which is inspiring me <3

Making meshes is easy for the most part. It's the implementation that's the difficult part. At this point, I think it's easier to start from scratch rather than trying to shoehorn a piece into what you want. It's easier than you think. The cloak started out life as a flat grid. In fact, the mesh is still named "Grid".

Anything outside of the basic cloak model will have to wait for a bit. I'll be starting my own playthrough soon, so most of my free time will go to that for a bit.

I'm still setting up the new laptop, but I got the game loaded and...let's just say it's a bit better than my old one! I only quadrupled my RAM, plus graphics card, etc...not top of the line but a huge leap from the old one.

This is amazing, just a classic pinned at the neck, over the shoulder cloak! There's too few of them in video games.

Down the line, do you have plans on making more? Maybe one pinned to the shoulder like this one here: https://grimfrost.com/cdn/shop/products/3920_2_900x.jpg?v=1621860675 Great work nevertheless and cant wait to see this released!

Thanks! Yeah, I’m always disappointed in the cape options they give us as cloaks. So, what do we do when we can’t find something we want? We make it! (I’m just speaking for myself, because I’m stupid enough to believe I can pull it off :) )

No plans to make other cloaks at the moment. This one is for my Dragonfly project seen here. The more I thought about it, the more it seemed like a good idea to also do a stand alone Cloak only mod for all body types. It’ll be a free resource for anyone that needs it to fit their mod.
