PUBLIC BUILD VERSION
1.6
FEATURES
Fantastical Multiverse aims to aid players who play races outside of the vanilla and encourages the fantastical by expanding the amount of playable races that are available in Faerûn. Allowing you to play just about any species available in D&D or Beyond! The world of Faerûn now can be experienced by the rest of the fantastical races that exist in Faerûn and other Multiverses, such as Eberron, Krynn, Etharis, Golarion, Malipāla, and even Eorzea!

Fantastical Multiverse keeps all species relevant to the current Dungeons & Dragons era by utilizing the following sourcebooks ruling:

Mordenkainen’s Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse [MoTM]
 Tasha's Cauldron of Everything
 Player's Handbook [2024]
 Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft
FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

Origin Proficiencies
Source Material: TASHA’S CAULDRON OF EVERYTHING
Some races that include the Ability Score Increase trait also grant proficiencies.  You can replace each of those proficiencies with a different one of your choice, following the restrictions on the Proficiency Swaps table.

Trait Spellcasting - Select Spellcasting Ability
All races that gained spells through a trait have the option to select their spellcasting ability based on RAW 5E Ruling:
Once you cast a spell with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.

Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race).

Racial Reactions
Racial Tags are attached to each species in order to trigger diaologue that Larian Studios has provided in Act 1,2, & 3. When availiable, NPC's will react and dialgoue options will become availiable for the player to select.  I've added Tags for unsupported species to all the species availiable in Fantastical Multiverse but they won't trigger anything. Below are the Tags that are supported by the game that are used by each species found in Fantastical Multiverse:

PLANAR [TAG]
The following tag is assigned to species that have an origin outside of Faerûn or the material plane.

RARE [TAG]
The following tag is assigned to species that aren't vanilla this way even if they are found in Faerûn they will have racial dialogue options and racial reactions.

BESTIAL [TAG]
The following tag is assigned to species that have animalistic features or traits. The following species are using this tag:

Bugbear

Yuan-ti
Yuan-ti Pureblood

BG3 SUPPORTED SPECIES SPECIFIC TAGS AARAKOCRA, AASIMAR, FIRBOLG, GENASI, KENKU, LIZARDFOLK, TABAXI, TORTLETRITON, WARFORGED, YUAN-TI PUREBLOOD

The following tags are assigned to their correct species in order to gain the dialgoue reactions and responces provided by Larian Studios. These lines are cut content that wasn't added into the full release of Baldur's Gate 3.  Fortunately, the code in the dialogue is still found within the full release of Baldur's Gate 3.

Heritage Origins - Racial Tag Selection
Lineages overshadow your original species, if any, becoming their new species.  You may choose a species that best illustrates your heritage before you inherited your current Lineages traits.  You gain Tags associated with that species in order to have responces based on that heritage.  The purpose for this is to add dialogue interactions based on the heritage the player has selected.

SUPPORTED LINEAGES:

  • Dhampir
  • Reborn

REQUIREMENTS
For this mod to work as intended you need the following mods as they are required for Fantastical Multiverse 1.6 to work correctly. Refusing to have either of these mods will likely result in unwanted results.
1) Improved UI                                                                                                                                                            Required for UI changes that permit Fantastical Multiverse to utilize features not availiable in vanilla Baldur's Gate 3. Fantastical Multiverse uses these UI changes to do the following:
  •  Choose your Spellcasting Ability for innate spells.
  •  Select your Racial Tags.
  •   Allows specific species to interact with Selectable Traits when the options are availiable to do so.

2) 5E Spells                                                                                                                                                                                                               If for some reason you are unable to use Script Extender, that is okay. The spells used in 5E Spells don't use Script Extender to function as these spells are less complex compared to others. You won't crash or damage your playthrough if you don't use Script Extender with 5E Spells. All that will happen is the spells that use Script Extender won't work.

If you're not using the races listed below then you do not need to install 5E Spells but I recommend it as it's a wonderful mod to have.

Races that require 5E Spells:

  • Earth Genasi
  • Firbolg
  • Water Genasi
