If you feel like you've just been called out and you don't like it then look no further, because these optional addons for the Highlight Everything Revised mod will disable 99% of these useless tooltips to keep your screen uncluttered and your mind at ease.
"Disable Light Sources" addon will remove tooltips for all sources in the game so your screen won't explode with 17 billion tooltips for all of the different candles, torches and braziers every time you enter a new room, while "Disable Everything Else" addon will remove tooltips for all uninteractable, decorative and/or trash items. You can use either one of these or both at the same time.
To get the best tooltip experience, I recommend using the following mods:
1) The main Highlight Everything Revised Tooltip mod
2) Two optional files from the same mod (Disable Kitchenware and Disable Rotten Food)
3) Better Hotbar 2
4) And an optional "IWT - BH2 - No Counter - Hide Looted" file from the Improved World Tooltips mod
The load order should be main Highlight Everything Revised mod, Disable Kitchenware / Disable Rotten Food, Disable Everything Else and then Disable Light Sources. "IWT - BH2 - No Counter - Hide Looted" is an override mod so you don't have to worry about it.
Keep in mind that as of 18.03.2025, there are still a couple of issues with the above mods:
First, the Highlight Everything Revised Tooltip mod currently breaks a couple of interactable items like Illithid Records and Manuscripts from the prologue nautiloid.
Second, the Improved World Tooltips mod hasn't been updated for patch 7 and as such the optional file mentioned above will not work.
I fixed both of these issues myself and will upload both mods here until they are properly updated. For now, use only my versions instead.
If you use all of the mods I've mentioned, you will get all the benefits from having tooltips for all relevant items without any of the negatives from having too much tooltips at once. Less tooltips also means higher FPS in areas with a lot of items while the tooltips are enabled.
