About this mod

This is a remaster of the Way of the Elements Monk subclass. The intention is for it to be emulate being a capable wielder of the elements. If you're a fan of an elemental bending power fantasy, you'll like this.

The design intention is to augment the 4E as a controller class. Not necessarily as pure damage. The strength lies in versati

Whether fire, air, earth, or water.
One may only answer once they have seen,
One only sees once they have become,
One only becomes once they have striven.

In order to see, one must do more than look, one must attune.

In earth, one must become cohesion.

In water, one must become motion.

In fire, one must become energy.

In air, one must become repulsion.

To see this, is to see the world

OVERVIEW
The mod is very simply a rework of the Four Elements subclass. Following the wonderful model presented by this homebrew that has been floating around in 5e communities for years as the de facto fix for 4 elements.

How has it been reworked?

  • Two Versions, Acolyte and Master. One stays in line with design convention, the other gives you all the disciplines.

  • Ki costs have been lowered to match spell level.

  • The cantrip disciplines no longer cost ki, nor does the Ice Block one.

  • Water Whip has been changed and is now a bonus action.

  • Multiple New Disciplines have been added at each level:

    - 3rd Level: Wisps of the Whispering Wind (Fog Cloud)
    - 6th Level: Patient Badger Listens (Tremorsense), Mote of the Sun (Flaming Sphere)
    - 11th Level: Spear of the Crackling Spire (Lightning Bolt), Rivers of Hungry Flame (Wall of Fire), Eternal Mountain Defense (Stoneskin), Rain of the Frigid Glacier    (Sleet Storm), Wave of Rolling Earth (Wall of Stone), Barrier of the Crystal Tsunami (Ice Wall), Earth Reaches For Sky (Erupting Earth)

  • Four New Passive Attacks based on the four elements that key off martial arts. They come with two versions. A basic and empowered. The basic version extends range by 30 feet, and changes damage type. The empowered version has additional effects and only uses a ki point on a hit.
- Fangs of the Fire Snake: Changes your damage to fire. Empowered version will do 1d10 extra fire damage. Only using ki on a hit.
- Fist of Unbroken Air: Retains bludgeoning. Empowered version will force a Strength save. If a target fails they are pushed 20 feet and knocked                    prone.
- Stone Palm Strike: Changes your damage to piercing. Empowered version will transform into a small AOE. All inside the radius take attack damage.                           Targets must make a Strength save or be knocked prone.
- Claws of the Frost Naga: Changes your damage to cold. Empowered version will transform into a small AOE. Only targets take attack damage.                    All in AOE must make a strength save or take 1d10 cold damage. A frozen surface is created regardless of whether a hit lands.

  • Fixed the issue where you could not split up your flurry attacks.

PROBLEMS

- Anything you as a community notice.

- Unfortunately, we don't have great earth VFX and animations. So the earthbending style is not as good as I was hoping for. Potentially I may find alternative solutions with time. If you see some animations or effects you think would be good for the mod. Feel free to note it in the comments. Please do try to tag spoilers though. I've spent much time modding so haven't gotten the chance to finish.

FUTURE PLANS

- I intend to do a type of Avatar State for a lvl. 12 capstone. That's currently being worked on.

- Maybe default monk stance replacements.
