Changelogs
A proudly 3rd party, handcrafted custom class that's all about bringing fun and action into the game. Have you ever thought Weapon Actions in BG3 were cool, but locked behind weapons you wouldn't use? Or perhaps the "once per short rest" limitation means you skip over them most of the time. Kind of a shame if you ask me! Well, this mod fixes that by bringing you a class inspired by action movie stars that use the basic and advanced Weapon Actions (and more) as melee spells that you can cast once per turn, using a single Ki Point. This mod thus synergizes very well with multiclassing into Monk. Let's break it down, shall we?

The Action Star
Action Stars are heroes of the stage, performing uncanny physical feats to the amazement of their audiences. They rarely become adventurers as a profession, preferring the safety of the play-fights of the stage, along with the lucrative pay that goes with it. You have to hone those skills somehow, tho, and so many Action Stars moonlight as adventurers, focusing their skills and refining their craft.

Proficiencies: Martial and Simple Weapons, Strength and Dexterity Saving Throws, and your choice of 3 skills: Athletics, Acrobatics, Performance, Insight, Deception, Survival, Perception.

At Level 1, select from three Subclasses, some basic Weapon Actions, and select from a pool of advanced Weapon Actions that I feel are low-tier.

At level 3, more advanced Weapon Actions are added to the pool to select from. This mimics the tiered spell system, giving you access to more powerful advanced Weapon Actions as you progress.

At Level 4, you get your standard ASI/Feat selection. Repeat for Level 8 and 12.

At Level 5, every Subclass gets Extra Attack and access to the next tier of advanced Weapon Actions.

At Level 7, every Subclass gets a passive called Break A Leg that inflicts Reverberation for 2 turns on enemies you inflict a condition on, along with the next tier of advanced Weapon Actions.

At Level 9, you get access to the next tier of advanced Weapon Actions, with the final tier being unlocked at Level 11. Now let's get onto the Subclasses.

Stunt Performer
Stunt Performers are all about mobility, dodging attacks, and, well... performing stunts. They wield a highly diverse set of skills; indeed, if you follow this all the way to Level 12, you'll be able to use any of the included 24 advanced Weapon Actions! They're fearless, confident in their ability to roll with the punches. They excel at not wearing armor, letting their Armor Class become 10 + Dexterity and Charisma bonuses. However, their role doesn't have them in the spotlight like the top-billed star of the show: They start with 3 Ki points, and gain 1 additional per level. See spoiler for more details.

At Level 1, you can select four basic Weapon Actions and two advanced Weapon Actions. You can select two advanced Weapon Actions per level in this Subclass.

At Level 3, you gain the Agile Actor passive. You gain an extra 3m of movement, and 2m of jumping distance.

At Level 5, you can pick an extra basic Weapon Action.

At Level 6, you gain the Tumbler passive. Tumble out of the way out of spells, and mitigate fall damage! This mimics the vanilla Evasion skill Monks and Rogues get, while adding resistance to fall damage.

At Level 9, you can pick an additional basic Weapon Action, and your critical hits do more damage: Add an additional dice of damage to each critical.

At Level 11, you've been called up to the highest level of stunt performers, and can fly on invisible wires at a distance of 18m. This mimics the Draconic Bloodline's 11th level Fly feature. I made it 18m because that's what it is in 5e rules.

Typecast
Typecast Action Stars are usually the stars of at least one ongoing franchise, so they have no time to diversify as much as their Stunt Performer colleagues, but their star power is greater. They start with 4 Ki points, and gain 2 per level, allowing them to woo the audience with constant castings. Never make a boring regular attack again! They also have proficiency in Light Armour, as their insurance clause requires they be armored in some way. As the star of the show, they gain access to powerful spells not seen in other Subclasses.

At Level 1, you can select two basic Weapon Actions, and one advanced Weapon Action. You can select one additional advanced Weapon Action per level in this Subclass.

At Level 3, you can fire your agent for not getting you out of these silly action films and into something more dramatic. This goblin "costar" that took a swing at you was the last straw. You gain access to a free use of Riposte, consuming your reaction for the turn. No superiority dice needed!

At Level 6, you get to star in a sequel to your previous play. As such, you carry over the experience, skills, and weapons of your previous play: You can Dual-Wield weapons that aren't Light (but not Heavy), and you can add your Ability Modifier to your offhand weapon as well.

At Level 9, you're a beloved star of a franchise of action plays. Your Enduring Career allows you to perform amazing feats, but causes you to sulk in your trailer after the show. You can choose to endure 6d6 Psychic damage, but perform an additional attack and double your movement for this turn. This is essentially the vanilla Martial Exertion skill you get from those gloves you buy in Act 3 from the deep gnomes, but changes the damage type from Piercing to Psychic.

At Level 11, you've accepted your Typecasted career, embracing it to a point you can perform a flashy attack to stun the audience, and your enemies. Your Denouement allows you to throw a cluster of grenades that deal 2d4+2 Bludgeoning damage to a target you throw them at, potentially knocking them Prone. After two turns, the grenades detonate, dealing 4d8 Fire and 4d8 Force damage to all within its glowing radius. This is essentially Yurgir's Volatile Cluster: as it was never intended to be used by a PC, there is a lil graphical whatsit, and your character freezes up a tiny bit before the damage procs. I couldn't get an animation of them throwing anything, so they kinda stand there and will it to happen. Sounds like an action star to me.

Veteran of the Stage
Veterans of the Stage have seen it all. They've grown wise with their experience, and have proficiency with Light and Medium armors. They don't have the versatility in skills of Stunt Performers; those days are long behind them. They are heavily focused on survivability and dealing damage to the enemy, looking to end any real conflict quickly and decisively. They bolster allies, ambush enemies, and throw fits at any challenge to their stardom.

At Level 1, you gain 3 Ki points, gaining an additional Ki point per level. You can select four basic Weapon Actions, and one advanced Weapon Action. You gain choose an additional Weapon Action per level in this Subclass. You also gain an extra 1hp per level taken in this Subclass, similar to Sorcerer's Draconic Resilience.

At Level 3, you reveal your Method Acting. You slip between rehearsal and the role so easily, that you gain a bonus to Initiative, and can make a free attack against an enemy on the first round of combat that deals an additional 1d8 weapon damage. This is essentially Ranger's Gloom Stalker's Dread Ambusher (melee only).

At Level 5, you can select an additional basic Weapon Action.

At Level 6, your Gravitas oozes from you. You can bolster nearby allies with an aura of Gravitas, allowing them to add your Charisma bonus to weapon attacks. Very similar to Oathbreaker Paladins' Aura of Hate, but targeting allies instead of the uncouth undead.

At Level 9, you've become infamous for throwing Tantrums when things aren't going your way. Everybody better steer clear of you, as you can Throw using a Bonus Action, dealing additional damage based on your Strength Modifier and knocking Prone whoever your garbage touches. This is Berserker Barbarians' Enraged Throw, but without needing to be in Rage to use it.

At Level 11, you need to Upstage the Upstarts. These amateurs think making two attacks per turn is impressive. How quaint. You, as an experienced stage actor, can make three attacks per turn. This is simply Improved Extra Attack.

Not fun enough? I've included an alternate version of the mod that lets you take an ASI/Feat at every level after 1! Take advantage of all those Charisma focused bonuses in some of the Subclasses and make your Action Star truly on par with the greats. Please install only one version of the mod. I also highly suggest getting Unlock Level Curve 13-20. While this mod only has 12 levels, it has a dummy 13th level that gives you a notification to multiclass out of it if you have this mod installed. This mod is powerful enough to be your main class throughout the adventure, but who doesn't like multiclassing after Level 12 or so into something else? Please note, if you do not heed the warning to multiclass out after Level 12, your game will hitch up when you hit Level 14. I don't want this to depend on Unlock Level Curve, but I want it to be supported too. This seemed like the best compromise.

Why do all skills, regardless of tier, use only 1 Ki point? Because it's fun! Also, all the weapon skills hook into each other, and are referenced through some very baked in stuff in the game. It's possible to create a system where different tiers use more Ki Points, and even eliminate Ki Point expenditure for basic Weapon Actions to make them function as Cantrips. However, the monumental effort to do so, and the spaghetti code that would create, limited me to this anyways. Whatever, being able to cast Hellflame Cleave for a single Ki point several times per combat is just a ton of fun.

Installation: Use BG3MM. File > Import Mod. Then move StarstruckClass.pak over to your active mod panel, grouping it with other custom Classes you may have. File > Save Order, then File > Export Order to Game. Note: This was built and tested on Patch 7 and did not use the toolkit in any way. The toolkit does not make sense to me, and I prefer making things by hand anyways. I learn more. If you really want a Patch 6 version, I can be open to requests, it just might not be done quickly.

Caveat: I did not create any custom icons for this Class. I just don't have the artistic skills, nor the money to hire someone who does, and I am wary of rights issues when using free sources on the internet. I also refuse to use LLM art of any kind, so that eliminated that option as well. That brings me to...

Rights: I waive any and all rights, as always. I'm proud to bring handcrafted fun to BG3 and allow my work to be fully extensible and open to all who want to translate it, mod it, fork it, add icons, do whatever you wish to it. You can publish any forked version of this mod under your own name if you wish, I won't judge. I used modified vanilla assets, so it would be wrong to claim any ownership of anything anyways. You do not need permission to modify this work in any way and publish it, just go with your heart.

Thanks: To all the mod authors who have inspired me, to all the well documented custom classes I used as reference as I taught myself how to make custom classes, to Larian and Nexus of course as always, and to you, the reader, for downloading this mod.
