⚠️ NOTICES BEFORE YOU CONTINUE ⚠️

1.) This mod is only supported on games updated to Patch 7 or Patch 8, depending on which version you download. Attempts to use this mod on patches other than the patch a version was intended for can lead to unforeseeable issues. Please always check what the supported patch is for a version of the mod before you submit any bug reports. You can see what the supported patch is in the file description before you download.

2.) This mod is a Nexus mirror of a mod available within the official Baldur's Gate 3 mod manager. You can install this mod in-game by either searching "Tactician Enhanced" within the in-game mod manager, or you can click this link to see the official mirror from within your browser.

What is Tactician Enhanced?

Tactician Enhanced is an extremely customizable difficulty scaling mod, primarily designed to help make playthroughs with an abnormally high number of party members (5 or more) more balanced and fair. Although, to be clear, you do not need more party members than usual to be able to use this mod. Perhaps you just like a good challenge!

Unlike many other mods that let you modify the difficulty yourself, which require messing with outside files to configure their settings, every setting in Tactician Enhanced can be modified entirely in-game! You don't even have to reload for your changes to take effect! Tactician Enhanced does not require Script Extender to be installed.

At launch, this mod allows you to give enemies additional hitpoints, actions, and bonus actions. New types of buffs will also be added in future updates as "add-on" features, such as the ability to increase enemy AC and saving throws. This mod allows you to have those buffs automatically increase as more characters join your party, or decrease as characters leave!

Compatibility?

Tactician Enhanced is completely compatible with 99% of mods, including the vast majority of other difficulty mods. This is because Tactician Enhanced is purely additive, and does not override absolutely anything from the base game or other mods. As a rule of thumb, if you're wondering if this mod is compatible with another mod you want to use, just assume it is until things stop working for you. The only compatibility problems I would expect this mod to have are with mods (or mod settings) that completely override max enemy health rather than just boost it. For example, you see this in some Combat Extender configurations.

Also keep in mind, as stated at the top of the page, this mod is only compatible with specific patches. Please read the file description before you download.

Getting started with this mod.

⚠️ NOTE: There are in-game pop-ups that also guide you through using the mod. Reading this section is completely optional. ⚠️

You need to enable the togglable passive that will be added to your character the first time you load a save with this mod enabled. If you're playing with a keyboard and mouse, you can find this in the "passive" section of your hotbar (the same place you enable/disable non-lethal attacks). If you're on controller, you'll need to find the passive in one of your action wheels. If you want to know what the passive looks like, check this mod page's "images" section.

Once enabled, you will get six new spells in the temporary spells section of your hotbar. If you don't see some/all of the spells, there is a problem with your game. That is not a bug with Tactician Enhanced. You will get no help from me if you try reporting this "issue," you need to check what other mods/settings may be causing the issue yourself. Assuming you do see all six spells, cast "View Setup Guide for Tactician Enhanced" to get a complete idea of how to configure this mod!

Is this mod safe to uninstall?

Yes, this mod is completely safe to uninstall! However, it is absolutely critical that you follow this mod's uninstallation steps properly, otherwise some characters in your playthrough may be stuck with permanent buffs. When you enable the mod's togglable passive that was mentioned in the last section, one of the spells added to your character will be an uninstaller spell. You must cast that spell in order to remove this mod properly. For more details on how to use the uninstaller, check the spell's description in-game.

Want to help support free mods? Consider a one-off donation!

All mods I make will be free, forever, always. But it's difficult to balance modding as a hobby next to work/college. Donations allow me to dedicate more time to modding BG3! If you appreciate the work I do and want to see more of it, financial help is always appreciated! You'll also be included in a public thank you post present on all of my mod pages for 30 days (starting on the next 1st of the month from when you make your donation).

"I would like to report a bug."

I encourage you to report any bugs you experience with this mod! However, there are some steps I highly encourage you to take before you start reporting bugs.

• See if you can reproduce the bug.
• Ensure that the bug you're experiencing is actually caused by this mod. Try testing in a game with no other mods.
• If your game is failing to launch, try deleting %localappdata%\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\modsettings.lsx. This mod will NEVER cause your game to fail to launch, but other mods potentially could, and you need to clean out both your mods folder and delete that file to get things working again.
• Get screenshots or a video of the bug if possible, those are always super helpful!

Also, please do not report issues with mods failing to download or not being able to load into multiplayer. Neither my mod, nor any particular mod, are the reason these are happening. These are bugs with the game.

"I want to port this mod to a different language."

That's awesome! If you are willing to port the mod, I would love for there to be different versions of this mod with support for other languages. However, if you want to port this mod, you MUST get my permission first. So long as you ask I will very likely say yes, but any re-uploads of this mod that I have not approved (whether on Nexus or another platform) will be taken down.
