About this mod
This mod attempts to bring back the old version of Stoneskin from 2nd and 3.5 editions of DnD.
- Permissions and credits
- Changelogs
- 2nd edition Stoneskin (as in Baldur’s Gate 2): The Stoneskin has skin layers, which I will later on refer to as “skins”. Each time a character is hit (physical damage), one skin is removed and all the physical damage in nullified. Your skins equal half your caster level (10th level wizard would get 5 skins).
- 3.5 edition Stoneskin: You get 10 Damage Reduction against basically all physical damage (adamantine weapons go through). You get Total Reduction of 10 per level, to maximum of 150. When your Total Reduction has been reduced 0, the stoneskin stops working.
My attempt to mimic these functions aka how Stoneskin is changed:
- Concentration requirement from the spell has been taken off. As in vanilla, the spell lasts till Long Rest.
- As in Vanilla, you will gain Resistance (half damage) to Bludgeoning, Slashing and Piercing damage. Unlike vanilla, this also includes magical Bludgeoning, Slashing and Piercing damage.
- You now get skins for your Stoneskin, as in 2nd edition. If you take damage, a skin will be removed. If you take no damage from a successful hit (only way this happens if the damage done to you was 1), no skins will be removed. You get 8 skins when you cast the spell.
- Upcasting becomes relevant. If you upcast it as 5th level spell, you will get 10 skins. If you upcast it as 6th level spell, you will get 12 skins.
- The spell ends, when the skins run out or you Long Rest.
- You cannot stack two Stoneskin spells: the one with more skins takes precedence.
- The number skins left will be visible in the Status icon next to your character’s portrait or in your character’s inventory panel. Check Mod pictures for more information.
Installation:
Use BG3 Mod Manager for installation.
Should work with an existing save (worked for me at least).
Should be safe to uninstall, as long no one has active Stoneskin spell on.
Compatibility:
Most likely won't work with anything that edits Stoneskin spell.
Engine limitations (for those who are interested):
