About this mod

The original Rebalance - Cantrips mod has wrong values on Thorn Whip. This small mod fixes it, making it less overpowered.
I also added an optional version for Acid Splash where instead of applying Acid condition for 2 turns, it deals more damage and doesn't apply the condition.

~ Thorn Whip Fix

The original Rebalance - Cantrips mod description says that Thorn Whip now uses d4 but in reality, it's using d6+2. This makes the cantrip very overpowered considering that:
  • it pulls a lot of distance
  • it is cast as a bonus action
  • it has no penalty when hitting at close range

When I played, I always felt that it was too overpowered and I was using it for damage and not so much for the pull. I read a comment by "neutrophil" talking about how the damage values are wrong and they should be "d4" as it was intented.

This is my very first mod edit and upload. I only edited some lines to change it from d6 to d4 (and added a different version of Acid Splash). The rest of the cantrips stay the same since this mod only overwrites the specific cantrip.

Do you like acid damage? Good news!

I also added a version that changes Acid Splash cantrip so that instead of doing this:
  • d4 and applies 2 turns of Acid condition (reduces armor class by 2)
does this:
  • d6 and doesn't apply Acid condition

~ How to install?

Very simple!

1. Drag and drop the Rebalance Cantrips (Thorn Whip Fix).7z file into BG3ModManager.
2. Place it right below the original "Rebalance_Cantrips" mod and my mod will override those specific values.

If you also want the Acid Splash version, do the same with Rebalance Cantrips (Acid Splash v2).7z.
You need to have the original Rebalance_Cantrips mod installed. If you don't have it, just drag and drop that one first, then my mod(s) below it.

Peace and love! =)

Note: I have also noticed that the Poison Spray cantrip damage is way too high as well but since this was my first time editing mods, I wasn't able to edit it without it causing problems. I think it uses some references and it's not as easy as changing one or two lines. The more I check the Rebalance series, the more I notice that many many spells are just overpowered, like removing concentration for very powerful spells and the author doesn't allow to tag them as unbalanced.
The only option that I found is placing this mod below the Rebalance Cantrips mod (just like my edit) and it seems to replace it correctly, using d6 poison cone, nothing else.
