About this mod
(Patch 8 Compatible) The life of an adventurer is demanding and strife with dangers; be it exhaustion, a broken leg, or going mad... it's inevitable.

- Changelogs
- A highly configurable interface for player customisation.
- A robust array of injuries from 5E and the third-party supplement Grit & Glory by Apostol Apostolov, currently 50 in total excluding re-flavoured effects to match different damage types. (With deviations where needed/suited.)
- A homebrew exhaustion system inspired by multiple others, created to be fitting (IMO) for the BG3 experience.
- Largely adapted 5E madness tables, both short and long term madness. (With deviations where needed/suited, indefinite madness can't really be adapted outside of TTRPG but that's fine.)
- This isn't just a system for players, it applies to NPCs if you wish and it's GREAT!
- An open ended approach to design for other mod authors to develop their own systems.
- A WIP (but pretty well fleshed out) configuration file set up to get you started! (Separate download, requires manual placement!)
Installation:
- If you're coming from the old Injuries and updating mid-playthrough, you should absolutely run Mod Uninstaller on the dependency The Great Goon Library
- Install the main Injuries mod the same way you would for any PAK file, into: AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
- Download the config.json's zip folder separately and extract it to: AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Script Extender
- If done properly, it will be like so: Script Extender\Injuries\config.json
- Use BG3MM, manual modsettings.lsx edit, Vortex, IGMM, MO2, whatever floats your boat for load order management, so long as it's done correctly
- You're done, ready for play with my default config or for further configuration.
To come:
- Much more information in general
- Resources for mod authors, including templates and what not
- More configuration options
- Additional systems adapted potentially, mainly madness and exhaustion which can plug in to the existing injury system
- Homebrew injuries to add to the pot
Stretch goals:
- Custom material overrides/textures, animations etc. to better adapt these effects, both visually and in gameplay.
Known issues:
- Using the sliders to configure numbers can cause weird rounding errors, which then have to be resolved by manually editing the config file, instead, ALWAYS use CTRL + left mouse click to type the number instead
- On Status Apply configuration is not currently functional for ticks, but this is noted in the menu
- In the main list of injuries etc. when making changes such as copying configuration options the numbers representing the amount of configuration may not update until they're hovered over.
Known conflicts:
- Anything overwriting the templates for Surgery kits (My "Injury Kits" will entirely cease to function)
- Anything overwriting the "TargetConditions" for Lesser Restoration (If the statuses it removes in vanilla aren't present it won't be usable for removing injuries).
Load order:
- Does not matter really, outside of needing to be loaded below mods which may conflict with the entries above
- General sounds placement is just wherever you put your Script Extender mods, above your library mods etc. unless there's a conflict of course.
