Breathe the Magic of Dragons
Your innate magic comes from the gift of a dragon. Perhaps an ancient dragon facing death bequeathed some of its magical power to you or your ancestor. You might have absorbed magic from a site infused with dragons’ power. Or perhaps you handled a treasure taken from a dragon’s hoard that was steeped in draconic power. Or you might have a dragon for an ancestor.Source: 2024 Player's Handbook
Level 3: Draconic Resilience
The magic in your body manifests physical traits of your draconic gift. Your Hit Point maximum increases by 3, and it increases by 1 whenever you gain another Sorcerer level. Parts of you are also covered by dragon-like scales. While you aren’t wearing armor, your base Armor Class equals 10 plus your Dexterity and Charisma modifiers.
IMPLEMENTATION: Rules as written.
Level 3: Draconic Spells
When you reach a Sorcerer level specified in the Draconic Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
Level 3 - Alter self, Chromatic Orb, Command, Dragon’s Breath.
Level 5 - Fear, Fly.
Level 7 - Arcane Eye, Charm Monster.
Level 9 - Legend Lore, Summon Dragon.
IMPLEMENTATION: Rules as written except for level 9. Since "Legend Lore" is useless in the game, you unlock only "Summon Dragon".
OPTIONAL FILE: If you want to move "Chromatic Orb" and "Command" to level 1 there is an optional file for that. (Suggested by Ruojo)
Level 6: Elemental Affinity
Your draconic magic has an affinity with a damage type associated with dragons. Choose one of those types: Acid, Cold, Fire, Lightning, or Poison. You have Resistance to that damage type, and when you cast a spell that deals damage of that type, you can add your Charisma modifier to one damage roll of that spell.
IMPLEMENTATION: Rules as written. The passive damage bonus did not change compared to the base game. The passive resistance now gets activated as soon as you reach level 6 instead of requiring a reaction. In the game it lasts until long rest, but now it gets automatically refreshed once you wake up from the rest, making it permanent.
Level 14: Dragon Wings
As a Bonus Action, you can cause draconic wings to appear on your back. The wings last for 1 hour or until you dismiss them (no action required). For the duration, you have a Fly Speed of 60 feet. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest unless you spend 3 Sorcery Points (no action required) to restore your use of it.
IMPLEMENTATION: At this level you unlock 2 new spells that give you the ability to fly. One is free to use but has a long rest cooldown, the other one has no use limit but costs 3 Sorcery Points. While you have one of these spells active, you can fly for 1 hour (600 turns in game) or end it early for free if you want to.
OPTIONAL FILE: Changes the duration from "600 turns" to "Until Long Rest". Less faithful but more quality of life. (Suggested by StoneMountain98)
Level 18: Dragon Companion
You can cast Summon Dragon without a Material component. You can also cast it once without a spell
slot, and you regain the ability to cast it in this way when you finish a Long Rest. Whenever you start casting the spell, you can modify it so that it doesn’t require Concentration. If you do so, the spell’s duration becomes 1 minute for
that casting.
IMPLEMENTATION: Added a new toggleable passive called "Dragon Companion". While this passive is active, the next time you cast "Summon Dragon" you will not use any spell slot. Once you cast it while this passive is active, the passive deactivates itself and cannot be activated again until a long rest is completed. Since the "Summon Dragon" spell is from the 5e Spells mod, i cannot modify it to remove the concentration and change the duration.
OPTIONAL FILE: At the time of writing this (16-02-25), the "Summon Dragon" spell from the 5e Spells mod is broken and they are currently fixing it. Since this feature is useless without this spell, i uploaded a file to change this feature to the 2014 PHB feature called "Draconic Presence" (if you want to know what it does look at the bottom of this link).
HOW TO INSTALL AND LOAD ORDER
I highly recommend installing mods using the Mod Manager. Put my mod below the expansion mod (if installed), below the 5e spells mod and above the compatibility framework. You should be able to install and uninstall this mod mid save, but respec to a different class or sublclass at withers before doing so, then respec back to Draconic Bloodline.Similar mod for other subclasses:
