DEBONAIRE HAS COME TO BALDUR'S GATE 3!

My third attempt at creating an entire new subclass from scratch for BG3/5e, inspired by the Debonaire Rogue subclass from Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity (somebody stop me). The Debonaire Rogue is a master manipulator, using their roguish charm to exploit the mental and emotional vulnerabilities of their targets. However, being so self-serving and at home in crowded social events means they may be a bit too reliant on being surrounded by their accomplices...
Goes very well together with a level 3 dip into Swords or Glamour Bard!

Like with all the other PoE adaptations, I've included abilities past level 12 for this one, so feel free to use level cap mods if you want access to them. I will not be making a separate version with reduced level thresholds. That being said, I've tried my best to make it fun to play while retaining a sense of balance, and as it's not based on 5e or any other homebrewer's work, I'm very much open to feedback and ideas since this is in no way a finished product. I hope you enjoy it!

SUBCLASS FEATURES

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, your impeccable charm has an otherworldy effect on your enemies. As an Action, choose one humanoid you can see within 9m of you. The target must succeed on a Wisdom Saving Throw (DC = 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be Dominated by you for 1 minute. While Dominated in this way, the target regards you as a trusted ally and will fight alongside you. If you or your allies attack the target, the charm ends immediately. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma Modifier, and you regain all uses after a Long Rest.

Additionally, you can cast the Charm Person spell without expending a spell slot. This spell shares uses with your Roguish Charm feature. Finally, you have Advantage on Attack Rolls against Charmed creatures, and when you hit a Charmed creature with a Sneak Attack, you can roll one additional Sneak Attack damage die.
NOTES
The Debonaire's bread and butter, adapted from the Roguish Charm feature of the Pillars subclass. This one essentially works as a modified Dominate Person, with the exception that the affected creature doesn't make saves when attacked, but the effect will immediately end when you or your allies attack it. Make sure you don't attack before you're actually ready to finish them off. Since the whole subclass is built upon Charming enemies, I also removed the enemy Advantage against being Charmed to make it much less save-or-suck. The idea is for you to Charm enemies and then stab them in the back. Charm Person (named Debonaire Charm in your spellbook) will still function exactly like the regular Charm Person spell and is not affected by the removal of enemy Advantage against being Charmed.

Starting at 3rd level, your self-serving nature and reliance on others leaves you vulnerable when alone. If you end your turn and no allies are within 9m of you, you have Disadvantage on Attack Rolls, and your Armor Class and Saving Throws are reduced by 1. This effect ends immediately when an ally is within 9m of you.
NOTES
An adaptation of the Cowardice feature of the Pillars subclass. Here is where the self-reliance problem kicks in. You need to be close to your friends in order to be at your best, so don't stray too far from them!

Starting at 9th level, you excel at exploiting the weaknesses of those who are emotionally or mentally vulnerable. When you hit a creature with an attack and the creature is Charmed, Frightened, or Incapacitated, you can add an additional 1d6 to the attack's damage. This increases to 2d6 at level 13 and 3d6 at level 17.
NOTES
Simple and to the point. Attacking creatures that are emotionally or mentally compromised will deal extra damage.

At 13th level, your charm and poise are matched only by your lightning-fast reflexes, but only as long as you are in peak condition. If you are not suffering from any negative conditions—including but not limited to Blinded, Poisoned, and Frightened—you gain a +2 bonus to your Armor Class.
NOTES
*Requires a mod that allows levelling past level 12.*
Simply makes it easier for you to avoid danger, but only if you're at your best. Everything that belongs to the Conditions status group in the game files are included, all of which can be found here in case you're interested.

Starting at 17th level, your words and presence are a finely-honed weapon, bending others to your will with effortless grace. You can target an additional creature with your Roguish Charm feature. Additionally, the targets make the Saving Throw with Disadvantage, and the effect lasts twice as long.
NOTES
*Requires a mod that allows levelling past level 12.*
Your ability to charm others have now reached its peak, making your Roguish Charm feature more potent and even harder to resist. Essentially three Metamagic options in one, but don't tell anyone.

POTENTIAL ISSUES/DISCLAIMERS

•   Since this subclass relies heavily on your Charisma, I'd recommend investing in that stat (the very least your second-highest one) so that you can increase the DC of Roguish Charm and also get more uses out of it. It kind of makes sense for a charming character to have high Charisma too, don't you think?

•   It's worth looking over your Charisma stat at level 1 when you pick Rogue as your class, since it's lower than 12 by default. If you don't change to 12 or more, you won't be able to cast Roguish Charm.
