About this mod

The goal of this mod is to provide 2 Tal'Dorei Reborn feats I wasn't able to find in other mods.

The 2 feats are available as separate files: Thrown Arms Master and Cruel from Tal'Dorei Reborn setting. Descriptions of the feats are below. There is also an improved Cruel version as RAW is severely underpowered.

2 feats from Tal'Dorei Reborn

Thrown Arms Master RAW(ish)
Cruel RAW(underpowered)
Cruel BOC Improved(more balanced w/BG3 OC)

With these feats I believe all of the (functional) Tal'Dorei Reborn feats are available on Nexus.

Thrown Arms Master (RAW)
ish
You’ve honed your ability to lob weaponry into the fray, including weapons not meant for ranged combat. You gain the following benefits:
  • Increase your Strength or Dexterity score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
  • Simple and martial melee weapons without the thrown property have the thrown property for you. One-handed weapons have a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet, while two-handed weapons have a normal range of 15 feet and a long range of 30 feet.*See below
  • Weapons that already have the thrown property increase their short range by 20 feet and their long range by 40 feet for you.
  • When you miss (or hit) with a thrown weapon attack using a light weapon, the weapon returns to your grasp like a boomerang at the end of your turn, unless something prevents it from returning. You can catch and stow as many weapons as you threw in this way. Note: Weapon must be 'equipped' before thrown to ensure return.

Implementation - RAW implementation would've meant some significant nerfs to how BG3 already treats throws on weapons w/o throwing property. I instead made all throw distance improvements mirror the 3rd bullet, essentially adding 30 ft your throwing range for all weapons. You will have a new Throw Weapon icon with highlight appear on hot bar after gaining this feat. Presently, all thrown attacks using a light weapon return to owner, regardless of if they hit target or not.

Cruel (RAW)
The challenges and struggles you've faced throughout your life have led you to delight in inflicting pain and anguish upon others. You gain a number of cruelty dice equal to your proficiency bonus. Your cruelty dice are d6s. You can roll only one cruelty die per turn, and a cruelty die is spent when you roll it.
You can roll a cruelty die under any of the following circumstances, with the indicated result:
  • When you deal damage to a creature, spend one cruelty die to deal extra damage to the creature equal to the roll.
  • When you score a critical hit, spend one cruelty die to gain temporary hit points equal to the roll.
  • When you make a Charisma (Intimidation) check, spend one cruelty die and add the roll to your check. (Works but you see roll result BEFORE you decide to apply the bonus)
You regain all spent cruelty dice when you finish a long rest.

This underwhelming feat gives you as few as 2 extra points of damage per long rest. I recommend the BOC version below as it's more balanced with the original campaign.

Cruel (BOC) Improvements
  • In addition to receiving a number of Cruelty Die equal to your proficiency bonus, you gain 1x bonus Cruelty Die to use at the start of each combat(expires at end of combat)
  • Uses a Die that starts at d6(lvl 1) and catches up to Superiority Die scaling, increasing to:
  • d8 at lvl 5
  • d10 at lvl 10
  • d12 at lvl 18
