Soft, magical ReShade presets designed for taking photos in the astral plane, the shadowfell, and in camp at night when the wizard is trying to impress you.
**None of these except for Serafina's Skylight are even slightly optimized for gameplay; while I didn't have any performance issues, the rest probably won't look great in most of the game as they are designed for specific areas.
✨ Serafina's Starlight - Soft, hazy, dreamy preset with pink and lavender overtones. Lifted midtones and mild shadows, low-contrast, and soft bloom — skin tones stay warm but the glow leans cooler. Designed specifically for the endgame astral plane. Depending on where you're standing, you may get a lot of artefacting in shadows; adjust the gamma in/out and transfer functions in chromaticity to deepen/soften dark edges.
🌟 Serafina's Incandescence - A warmer, more vibrant version of Starlight, for when you want Starlight outside of the endgame astral plane. Less haze, but wildly glowy in full light. Looks good in the non-endgame astral plane / prism.
💫 Serafina's Radiance - A bright, over-saturated version of Incandescence. Brings out all the colors of the sky. Punches you in the face with warmth and saturation in most fully-lit scenes. Looks good in the astral plane and in moonlit scenes.
🌆 Serafina's Twilight - Designed for the gauntlet of Shar / the shadowfell / the shadow lands. Features violet and magenta overtones, indigo shadows, warm highlights for Signe's hair, cool-toned bloom, and moody dark contrast. Can be a bit overwhelmingly purple at times.
☄️ Serafina's Aurora - A warm, red-tinged preset that brightens up and neutralizes darker scenes. Offsets green, looks great with red. Designed for the red camp in the shadow lands (and the shadow lands in general).
🌠 Serafina's Afterglow - A soft filter with warm shadows and aqua-toned highlights. Leans slightly green, like the vanilla game. Designed for the astral gazebo, and night scenes at camp.
🌌 Serafina's Dreamlight - Dreamy hazy lavender with a brightness boost for the darker parts of the astral plane.
🎆 Serafina's Fluorescence - Ultra-warm technicolor vibrance and flawless skin. Designed for the astral prism, and night scenes at camp.
🌅 Serafina's Skylight - Soft pink lighting and muted contrast that won't blind you with blown-out menus for gameplay.
Installation:
1. Download ReShade here and run the installer.
- Select the version of BG3 you play (bg3_dx11.exe or bg3.exe)
- Select the corresponding API of your version (DirectX 10/11/12 or Vulkan)
- Install all effects.
2. Unzip Serafina's Starlight ReShades and place the .ini files in your game's bin folder, e.g. (for Steam users):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin
3. Open ReShade in your game and enable the preset of your choice from the drop-down menu. Enjoy!
Tips
- These presets are designed for specific areas of the game, but will still look okay in other areas. However, they are not designed for well-lit areas — if you would like to use them in well-lit areas, adjust the input/output exposure in MagicHDR and the gamma in/out in chromaticity.
- To tone down the brightness, adjust or disable Tint.
- To get rid of the flashy bloom, disable Quark: Xenon.
- If white areas look sharp and/or blown out, adjust or disable Dehaze.
- If you are getting weird artefacts in shadows, adjust the gamma in/out and the transfer functions (bottom three sliders) in chromaticity.
