About this mod

Adds several new flaming weapons inspired by the Everburn Blade to the game.

Permissions and credits

Adds five new flaming weapons to the game, each possessing custom abilities and passives, often taking inspiration from existing effects in the game. The goal of this mod is to create weapons that feel powerful but not overpowered. To do this, I've tried to create conditions for the weapons to activate their most powerful effects. In most cases, this requires your targets to have the burning condition. Additionally, wielding an Everburn weapon tags a character with a unique condition that in some cases will be required to cast certain beneficial or group-based abilities. (this is a feature I plan to build around more in future updates).

This is my second mod for bg3 - It started off as a test of what I was able to achieve with the modding tools (adding existing vfx to different weapons, creating custom spells and passives etc.) consequently, this was very much a 'learn as I go along' creation. In future updates I will likely be making changes to the existing weapons in an effort to refine the balance - If you decide to try out this mod, feedback and suggestions for balance as well as new items/abilities would be greatly appreciated! :)

Currently, all weapons are equipped with the following passives:

  • Everburning - The constitution save for this passive is pretty achievable 9 for your target, especially on Tactician mode. This was a conscious balance decision to encourage players to inflict the 'Burning' condition through a variety of different methods, while still having the occasional chance to burn a target on melee.
  • Stoke The Fire - Pretty straightforward, a nice bonus to crit chance to your burning victims

Currently, all melee weapons possess the following ability:

  • Cauterize - Sacrifice health to cure certain ailments (may change this to require an action for balance)

Currently the weapons are purchasable at the druid grove entrance trader. In the near future, I will add them to additional vendors, but ultimately I'd like to implement a more interesting way to acquire them (maybe you have to fight something to get your hands on them).

This mod comes with Mod Fixer pre-installed, so an additional download isn't required.

Whilst it's possible to install manually install this mod, I would recommend using BG3 Mod Manager to make life easier.

If you're using Vortex, install how you would install any other mod, no special requirements.
