More Prominent Scars for Shadowheart
Features
This is a small, simple mod that makes Shadowheart's scars darker and more noticeable, specifically:
This mod doesn't add scars or make the scars bigger, only darkens them to make them more prominent. I might make a version in the future that adds scars, but for now, I'm focusing on the existing ones.
Anyways, I'm a simple gal: I love scars, I love Shadowheart, and I love BG3. So, here we are. Enjoy!
Variants
Currently, there are five main variants:
For each of the main variants, there's also a version that adds freckles alongside the edits to the scars.
There are a couple standalone miscellaneous files that make small changes:
The old 1.0 variants are still available, and the 1.0 comparison image is still up if you'd like to see the difference between them and the current versions. The scars are slightly redder and raw in these old variants. I've left them up in case anyone prefers them.
Compatibility
Should be compatible with everything, save for any mods that edit Shadowheart's face textures.
Since this is a loose replacer mod, patches and hotfixes to the game shouldn't break it, so no need to worry on that front.
Installation
This is a loose replacer mod, which means you'll be dropping the Generated folder in the .zip into the Data folder located in your BG3 install. The default file path for the BG3 install and Data folder is:

Features

- The big scar beneath her right eye
- The little scar beside the big scar
- The two scars above her right eye (someone really had it out for her right eye)
- The scar on her chin
- The scar on her bottom lip
- The small 'X'-shaped scar on her left cheek
- The curved scar on her left jaw (sadly hidden by her bangs)
- The scar on her neck

- All Scars - Subtle: A slight darkening of the scars, more noticeable than vanilla but not overly so
- All Scars - Prominent: Makes the scars much darker and impossible to miss compared to vanilla
- All Scars - Mixed: Combines subtle and prominent variants with a prominent big scar and subtle smaller scars
- Big Scar Only - Subtle: Slightly darkens the big scar only, not overly noticeable
- Big Scar Only - Prominent: Makes the big scar much darker and noticeable
For each of the main variants, there's also a version that adds freckles alongside the edits to the scars.
There are a couple standalone miscellaneous files that make small changes:
- Freckles: Gives Shadowheart freckles while making no changes to her scars
- Normal Map: Contains only the edited normal map. The big scar under her eye is slightly misplaced in the vanilla normal map, mostly noticeable on the bridge of her nose as a strange split in the scar. This fixes it, while keeping the original appearance of all the scars.
The old 1.0 variants are still available, and the 1.0 comparison image is still up if you'd like to see the difference between them and the current versions. The scars are slightly redder and raw in these old variants. I've left them up in case anyone prefers them.
Compatibility
Should be compatible with everything, save for any mods that edit Shadowheart's face textures.
