Changelogs
Version 1.4.1.3
Found and fixed an issue that was causing the Heat gain effect of Cinder Shoes to not trigger.
Version 1.4.1.2
Fixed an issue where damage redirected from a Warding-Bonded character with Heat to the caster of that Warding Bond would inflict Heat's additional fire damage.
Version 1.4.1
Heat now grants 2 additional Fire Damage whenever you deal damage (up from 1). Heat Convergence remains unchanged.
Version 1.4
Heat Convergence and Heat have both been significantly reworked: Heat Convergence now adds bonus fire damage to ALL damage you deal, not just fire damage. Heat Convergence now only consumes 1 "turn" of Heat" when the user deals damage with its effect active. The user cannot gain "turns" of Heat from outgoing actions while Heat Convergence is toggled on. Heat now deals an additional 1 damage per 'turn' instead of 2. The user can still gain Heat from the OnDamaged effect of Fireheart's passive - Eternal Flame, as well as from 'Self Immolation.
Heat no longer has 'turns', it instead has 'Degrees" which do not deplete over time during combat. Most sources of Heat that granted 'turns' upon dealing fire damage now grant heat from dealing *ANY* damage*. Additionall, Heat permanently grants an extra 1 fire damage even without Heat Convergence Active.
In order to make the heat mechanic more accessible at earlier levels several items have had additional locations where they can be obtained added.
"Gold Wyrmling Staff' can now be looted from an 'Entombed Candlekeeper' found inside the forgotten chapel near the Nautiloid Crash site.
'Cinder Shoes' can now be purchased from Aaron at the Emerald Grove.
"Thermoarcanic Gloves" can now be purchased from both Blurg and Lady Esther
Thermoarcanic Gloves passive - Thermal Equilibrium has been replaced by: Flamethrowing: You have +1 to attack rolls and Spell Save DC when performing actions that inherently deal fire damage.
Heat now has a new custom Icon to differentiate it from Burning
Version 1.3
Improved the backend functionality of Ruby Spellfire (and some of the other passives including Heat Convergence). Everything should work with every appropriate fire spell/class action in the game now (and 99% of properly formatted spells added by other mods). Please let me know if there are any spells/abilities it does NOT work properly on.
Added a secondary passive to Fireheart that helps the first passive "Eternal Fire" act as a more controllable Heat generator.
Updated the description of some items and their rarity/value to better reflect their shiny new, improved state!
Version 1.2.5.8
Reduced the maximum "Heat" turn cap to 5, increased the damage bonus per turn of "Heat Convergence" and the healing per turn of "Cauterize" Accordingly
"Heat Convergence" now grants 2 bonus fire damage per turn of "Heat," up from 1
"Cauterize" now heals for [Current Turns of "Heat"] multiplied by [a custom levelmap value starting at 2 (level 1) and scaling to 5 ( by level 7)].
The bonus fire damage granted by the "Heat" status itself has been increased to 2 from 1.
Tightened down the nuts and bolts of "Heat" generating passives to minimize excess/unintended generation now that "Heat" has a lower turn cap and a higher value per "stack."
Version 1.2.5.3
Fixed an oversight that allowed "Golden Flameshroud" to grant more Heat than intended in certain circumstances.
Version 1.2.5.2
Improved "Self Immolation" - It now gratns 3 turns of Heat (instead of 2) and removes restraining effects such as "Ensnared" and "Enwebbed" (and others)
Version 1.2.5.1
Fixed an issue where certain Way of the Four Elements Monk Spells did not properly benefit from "Heat Convergence"" and "All Burn Together."
Version 1.2.5
Modified Cindermoth Cloak to include a new class action and a new passive. Updated it's rarity and value to reflect its new and improved state.
Modified the Ring of Self Immolation passive "All Burn Together" - it now also creates small fire surfaces under targets whenever it inflicts burning.
Modified Thermodynamo Axe to deal and additional 1d4 fire damage.
Modified the "Pyroquickness Hat" passive "Fiery Return" - It can now only activate once per turn. This doesn't functionally change gameplay - you could never get more than one extra bonus action per turn by activating this effect - The vanilla version of this passive would simply overwrite the first application of the "Extra Bonus Action" status bonus which lead to an unintended and unexpected behavior - namely *losing* your second bonus action without having used it in certain circumstances.
Modified "Heat" so that its damage bonus no longer applies to damage done by the user to themself.
Version 1.2
"Heat Convergence" no longer deals additional damage to burning targets, instead characters now deal 1 additional fire damage any time they deal any type of damage while having turns of "Heat" (including damage dealt by "Burning" ticks and other damage-dealing statuses). This damage bonus does not require "Heat Convergence" to be toggled on, it is completely independent of "Heat Convergence" This should act as a better added incentive to set burning while also smoothing out Heat generation in early game.
Ruby Fireflash - (The toggleable passive from Fireheat which allows the wearer to cast fire cantrips and spells as bonus actions) has been renamed to Ruby Spellfire, and no longer has a cooldown. Found and fixed an issue where it needed to be toggled off then back on between uses.
Eternal Flame - Increased the healing recieved when the wearer takes fire damage from 1-2 hit points to 1-3 hit points. Found and fixed an issue where attackers would gain heat when attacking the wearer of Fireheart when dealing fire damage instead of the wearer.
Firewalk - is now toggleable! Firewalk no longer requires the wearer to be in combat, be burning or have turns of heat. In addition to what it did before, Firewalk now also creates a larger fire surface where the wearer lands whenever they jump.
Thermal Equilibrium - Increased the heal from consuming 5 or more turns of "Heat" by using "Heat Convergence" from 1-3 hit points to 1-4 hit points.
Cauterize - Is now useable once per short rest, instead of once per long rest.
Changed the visual and audio effects for "Cauterize" and "Disperse Heat".
Version 1.1
Added two new passvies - "Moths to Flame" to Cindermoth Cloak and "Firewalk" to Cinder Shoes.
Fixed an error that allowed "Dissipate Heat" to be used during combat.
With Packin’ Heat you can:
All Burn Together!: Ignite enemies when you deal fire damage to them while you are already Burning. (if you have a certain item equipped)
Eat the fire!: Regain Hit Points when you take fire damage, deal fire damage, or are just in the general vicinity of fire damage! (also from gear)
So anyways, I started BLASTIN!: Cast a fire spell, then another, then another (as a bonus action!) and then maybe one more? Another!? Really? GAHT DAYYUM! (You guessed it, gear! I)
Get Hooked on Pyrophonics!: That’s right, no more waiting till act two, now with several new and improved drop and purchase locations throughout Act 1 you can hook your character while they’re young!
Let em' cook!: Heat now does more, stacks faster, is more flexible and does more per stack! You get 1 bonus fire damage without even using Heat Convergence! Heat can be built by any damage you deal, and Heat Convergence can buff any type of damage you deal.
And also some quality of life stuff: Dissipate your heat after every combat with new Dissipate Brand Heat Dissipation from the Heat Dissipation Co™. No more scrambling to find a random crate that you can firebolt before your own Heat sends you to the fugue plane, now you can just get rid of it at will! (While you’re not in combat.) No equipment necessary, this is just baked into Heat now.
And even more!: There are several new passives and abilities not mentioned here, For a detailed description of the changes made by Packin' Heat, look at the images on this page or see:
