Added a preliminary subclass icon so that those fields aren't completely empty, using the one I initially put in the subclass description image.
Changed an entry that maybe, possibly, potentially, could fix an error.
Version 3.0
Updated for patch 7. Honesty not sure if it works for patch 6, but I guess it should. REMEMBER TO DELETE THE OLD VERSION OF THE MOD IF YOU'RE USING THIS ONE.
Updated spell visuals to make them more in line with the violet Conquest theme. Most of the prepare, cast and hit effects are now violet, while retaining the Paladin vibe.
The color scheme of the starter armor has been tweaked.
Version 2.3
Conquering Presence now applies the correct Fear effect on affected targets, making them unable to move towards you like intended.
Version 2.2
The starting shield was not acting like a shield at all. Now it is.
Version 2.1
Added a dye that matches the starting armor, so you can use the same color scheme after upgrading your armor! Can be found in the tutorial chest and at various vendors.
Changed the wording a bit for Chosen Adversary.
Version 2.0
Added a new 1st-level Channel Oath ability, in line with the other BG3 Paladin subclasses. As such, I've adjusted the character progression so that Conquering Presence and Guided Strike unlock at level 3 instead.
Cleaned up tooltips to make them less wordy.
Fixed some Compatibility Framework entries.
Finally added the correct version number for the mod manager!
Version 1.3
Added innate Compatibility Framework support.
Version 1.2
New armor and shield for more coherent visuals between Paladin subclasses
Fixed a few spell visuals that were obsolete (let me know if there are more issues)
Added the Vengeance tag to this subclass, so hopefully it works similar in terms of oathbreaking and dialogue options
Guided Strike should now only pop up when needed (i.e. when the +10 would help you to hit the target)
Version 1.1
Invincible Conqueror now works like intended (thanks lostsoul)! Also fixed the Command and Fear spells so they unlock as Always Prepared
The Oath of Conquest paladin: slightly less agreeable from the get-go, without having to break your oath.
CLASS FEATURES
OATH SPELLS 3rd level: Armor of Agathys, Command 5th level: Hold Person, Spiritual Weapon 9th level: Bestow Curse, Fear 13th level: Dominate Beast, Stoneskin 17th level: Cloudkill, Dominate Person
NOTES
It took quite a while, but now I've finally implemented my own 1st-level Channel Oath ability in line with the other BG3 Paladin subclasses. It's pretty straight to the point and goes along with Conquest's focus on Fear effects—you don't always need or want to Fear everything around you, but if you choose to focus your wrath on one creature, you also gain the benefit of literal advantage for a few rounds.
Worth noting is that the saving throw is done behind the scenes and won't show up above the target, but rest assured that it does the necessary rolls.
NOTES
Works almost exactly like Oathbreaker's Dreadful Aspect, but seeing as Frightened/Feared works differently in BG3 since they are two separate conditions, I added a new one that goes under the Frightened status group that allows the enemy to shake off this fear effect on a successful saving throw, and not become automatically immobilized—just like intended in 5e.
NOTES
Works as in 5e, and has a built-in interrupt that you can toggle on and off. Remember that it shares Channel Oath charges with your Conquering Presence spell so you don't allow it to chew through your limited amount of charges. Should only trigger when needed, i.e. when the +10 would make you hit your target (let me know if it doesn't).
NOTES
Works as in 5e. (*Psst* Note that the zero movement speed debuff means that a feared and prone target cannot stand up, so make sure to take advantage of that)
NOTES
*Requires a mod that allows levelling past level 12.* Works as in 5e. Added an animation to the automatic spell cast that essentially copies Vicious Mockery, to simulate your paladin actually scornfully rebuking the attacking enemy.
NOTES
*Requires a mod that allows levelling past level 12.* Now works as intended in 5e (thanks to lostsoul)! The extra attack stacks with the second attack you get a level 5, meaning you get three attacks total per round. It's located to the far right of your hotbar where passives and temporary spells are located, so make sure you don't forget to use it.
SUBCLASS-THEMED DYE
Uses the black and royal purple theme of the Conquest scalemail. Can be found in the tutorial chest, and with numerous vendors throughout the game.
POTENTIAL ISSUES/DISCLAIMERS
• I'm not sure if oathbreaking is disabled or abides by Vengeance rules (since I added the Vengeance tag to this subclass), or simply abides by what seems to be the Paladin default (Devotion). In EA, it defaulted to Devotion rules and triggered oathbreaking whenever you did something that broke those tenets, so if that's still the case, please make sure you save as often as you can so you can go back on dialogue options/actions you take in case of oathbreaking when you don't want it to happen. There are probably websites where specific oathbreaking events are listed.
• If you want to uninstall this mod, make sure you change the (sub)class of any Conquest characters that you have before doing so.
• I'm not responsible for any issues regarding your save games when installing this mod and/or using it in conjunction with other mods. Sometimes using mods will wreck your save file and make the game crash, so use mods at your own discretion.
1. Start BG3 Mod Manager and press the "Open Mods Folder" button on the top bar, or press Windows + R and type %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods\. 2. Open "OathofConquest.zip" and place "OathofConquest.pak" in the Mods folder. 3. Refresh the mod list in BG3 Mod Manager by pressing F5, and move the mod from inactive mods to active mods in the mod manager window. If you encounter any issues, try placing it further down in the load order. Make sure you use the "Public" profile. 4. Click "Save Load Order to File" in the top bar and launch the game.
