How does this mod work?
This mod works by adding variants of the Create Sorcery Points ability that use Warlock Spellslots instead of generic (read any other class) spell slots. They will be visible for non-multiclassed Sorcerers too, but won't be selectable.
Why do I want this mod?
Currently in BG3, if you are a sorcerer/warlock and try to create sorcery points from your spell slots, you can't choose to use Warlock spell slots until you have exhausted your normal spell slots. This means you miss out on free sorcery points when you short rest with left over Warlock spell slots. With this mod, you'll be able to choose and use them properly!
How do I use this?
Step one: Click on the Create Sorcery Points ability.
Step two: Click on the second option to convert normal spell slots; or the third option to convert warlock spell slots. The first option is usable, but won't let you choose your spell slot. You can tell what kind of spell slot will be converted when you hover over the option.
Step three: That's it: enjoy your Sorcery Points!
What's a Coffeelock?
'Coffeelock' refers to an infamous Warlock/Sorcerer multiclass build that abuses how warlock spell slots come back on a short rest by converting them into Sorcery Points as a sorcerer, and never long resting (i.e. by never sleeping, hence Coffee). Over time, this gave them theoretically infinite spell slots, so long as they didn't succumb to exhaustion.
BG3 can't go full coffeelock thanks to short rest limits, but now at least you can do your best imitation of our favourite bean addled Sorlock build.
Compatibility?
All this does is add new options to the Create Sorcery Points spell container, so unless another mod messes with the same thing, it should be compatible.
Known Issues
- The names/tooltips of the additional Create Spell Slot variants don't change. Fortunately the required resource tooltip and icon are still accurate.
- The new variants appear even for non-warlock Sorcerers. The ability still functions properly.
- There is an extra (the first) version of the spell that won't let you choose your spellslot. This is technically the original version of the spell, and I can't get rid of it without altering the Sorcerer progressions and making the mod incompatible with other sorcerer mods.
