About this mod

Flavour and buffs to the Warlock class, adding more distinctive patron features, and making the class more self sufficient in view of multiclass options that benefit heavily from just two levels of Warlock. Using only base-game text, this works with all languages.

Permissions and credits
Changelogs
With the patron roleplay being limited to Wyll, the GOO Warlock's telepathic abilities being a main plot device for everyone, and the feytouched nature of the Archfey warlock playing no role aside from a class action in combat, the Warlock class in BG3 is more than ever a stepping stone for min-max builds, only worth taking a few levels.

This mods tries to balance the Warlock class for the reality of BG3, where there is no DM who can adapt the pace and direction of the story to cater to the special needs of the warlock. (AKA sleepy main character syndrome).

The 4 modules that are meant to be used together but can be installed independently.

Warlock Patron Descriptions
Pure flavour - More extensive descriptions of the patrons and their relation to the warlock (English only!)

Warlock Bonus Feat
Like fighters, Warlocks now also get an additional feat at level 6

Warlock Tome Spell Slots
  • Pact of the Tome now adds two regular 1st level spell slots, and Deepened Pact adds one 2nd level slot.
  • This is doubled to four 1st level and two 2nd level slots when you take the Book of Ancient Secrets Invocation.
  • With Pact of the Tome, the spells from Book of Ancient Secret are now learned as regular spells that use spell slots.

Warlock Patron Boost
The intent of this module is to make the patrons more distinct and buff them to compensate for the lack of actual RP interactions with the patrons. How can the patron sweeten the deal to keep you from abandoning them in favour of your newfound draconic bloodline or the tadpole in your head?

Each subclass gets some extra features at every odd level up to level 9.

Fiend:
Your patron is a fiend from the lower planes of existence, a being who desires the corruption or destruction of all things, including you. By pledging your soul to the Hells or Abyss, you earned a deadly arsenal of fiendish arcana.

Level 1:Gain Hellish Resistance (Fire Resistance)
  Learn the Hellish Rebuke Spell

Level 3:Gain Relentless Endurance (Once per long rest rise with 1 hp when being downed)

Level 5:Learn to cast Fiendish Charm (3-target Charm Person) once per short rest without expending a spell slot

Level 7:Gain Infernal Retribution (Attacker recieves 3 turns of burning when you succeed a saving throw)

Level 9:Learn to cast Shadowstep at will (long range teleport between dim lit areas)

Great Old One:
Your patron is an unspeakably ancient entity whose nature is utterly foreign to the fabric of reality. While your patron might not even be aware of your existence, your connection still gains you strange powers over entropy and the mind.

Level 1
:Gain Mindreader (Insight Expertise and Advantage)
  Learn the Detect Thoughts spell

Level 3:Gain Iron Mind (Advantage on saving throws against being frightened)

Level 5:Learn to cast Hypnotic Gaze (melee-range charm/incapacitate, usable once per combat)

Level 7:Gain Heightened Awareness (+3 to initiative, Advantage on Perception checks)

Level 9:Learn to cast Confusion at will without concentrating or expending a spell slot.

Archfey:
Your patron is a lord or lady of the fey, a creature of legend who holds secrets that were forgotten before the mortal races were born. Your inscrutable and whimsical patron imbues you with the sumptuous and eerie qualities linked to their realm.

Level 1:
Gain Beguiling Influence (Proficiency in Deception and Persuasion)
Learn the Speak with Animals spell (Beast Speech invocation)

Level 3:Gain Fey Ancestry (Advantage on saving throws against being charmed, immune to sleep)

Level 5:
Learn to cast Shapechanger (Ability to transform into a bird at will)

Level 7:Gain Land's Stride: Difficult Terrain

Level 9:Learn to cast Polymorph at will without concentrating or expending a spell slot.

Notes/Compatibility:

All modules except the Warlock Patron Descriptions use base game text for new passives/abilities and should work with all languages supported by the game.

Mods changing the warlock leveling progress will conflict at Levels 6 (Bonus Feat) and 7 (Tome Spell Slots) for changes that apply to all warlocks. Patron specific modifications will conflict at levels 1,3,5,7 and 9.

When Book of Ancient Secrets is taken at level 9 or 12 instead of level 7, you need to save/reload before the game recognizes that you have Pact of the Tome.

Before uninstalling the Tome Spell Slots module, start a respec to remove the extra spell slots.
