About this mod

A Summoner class culmination of various classes I had made for various playthroughs. Doing tooltips for all of them would have been way too much tedium for me so I decided to throw various parts of them all into one class. Those classes being a fleet admiral, a Bowmaster, a dog-only summoning class, a zookeeper class, a touhou, and dota 2 heroes

IMPORTANT NOTES!!! <------ READ THESE
1. I heavily edited bow animations including frames and timetables. I personally only play Body type 1 Female Elf and Human. If you play a different race/gender I have no idea how it will turn out or if spells will even work, play B1F Human/Elf if you use this mod
2. I highly suggest using a camera zoom mod like Native Camera Tweaks, some abilities might be hard to see or use on the base game zoom levels which are extremely close-up
3. The class starts with a Bow weapon, the class will NOT function without this bow. You spawn with it, and there is a copy in the TUT chest, this class will not work mid-playthrough unless you spawn the bow yourself UUID: 060bca52-014c-4548-a87f-601e1e7dfb6b
4. I deliberately made this mod with only base-assets and used no other mods except transmog, camera zoom, and vemp heads during my playtest runs. If something is breaking you can be reasonably certain its unrelated to this mod as it has no dependencies and can be used as-is vanilla base-game

Long read, you can just download and play but you'll miss some details
Ever since learning how to mod in February which started with this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/6892 I have made various classes for various playthroughs and have culminated them into the class you will be reading about.

This class is packed full of conveniences players who already have hundreds of hours into this game will appreciate, some design choices may seem a bit awkward but that is because this is a culmination, not a standalone.

This class is heavy on summons, this is because I've wanted to play a summoner class for awhile but I hate how slow and worthless the summons in this game are. You ever watch your Necromancy of Thay summons walk around at the pace of a snail and take three real life minutes to do two damage? About then is when I decided I'd just make my own.

-All summons end their turn immediately after attacking, the strange delay/lag summons have in which they end their turn 5 seconds after attacking is removed
-Summons move insanely fast, fast enough that they can keep up with blink dagger
-The crucial summons come out instantly and without hassle, no long-winded animations or anything of the sort

Blink Dagger is a teleport that ignores all game boundaries and line of sight blocks. This gives you chasm immunity and can be used to explore or skip parts of the game you hate such as the 4 circle puzzle room in the goblin fortress, the annoying Lathander walls, the entire gauntlet of shar, etc. This is out of combat only.

I will begin with the Bow based abilities, these are all from the Maplestory/Dota2 classes. This class has a passive called "Marksmanship", when any hostile entity is within 10 yards of you, many of your abilities will be much less effective or outright unavailable. This is to force the more typical archer archetype that isn't shotgunning people in the face point blank with a Bhaalist Aura.

-Focus Fire
This is your bread and butter for most of the game, a 9 hit Hurricane that works at any range, you unlock more arrows as you level up, damage scaling comes from arrow unlocks and your Attack Drone (explained later)

-Limit Break
Once per Long Rest ability which allows Focus Fire to trigger all 9 arrow-procs every hit, applies Lethargy afterwards, best used on the last turn of a Potion of Speed/Terazul

-Storm of Arrows
Standard non-orbital AoE spell, enemies can only be hit once per turn by this ability

-Powershot
Extreme long range single target knockback/nuke spell with boundary ignoring trajectory that can hit basically anything

Windrun and ShackleShot

These are abilities from the Space Class, Orbital spells require a very high ceiling, if you are in a cave or something the spells will not hit. You have a built-in ceiling check ability you can use to generally have a good idea of when these will work. I put this restriction in because I couldn't figure out a way to balance them in comparison to the Bow abilities otherwise

-Interdimensional Canine Armada Fullisade
Pick ten areas and fire lasers at those areas, you can only hit entities once per turn with this, stacking areas does nothing it only does damage once, this is the Storm of Arrows counterpart

-Flagship Gensokyo's Interdimensional Precision Plasma Strike
Pick a teeny AoE and deal massive damage to that area, this is the Powershot counterpart

-Turrets and Giant Space Dog
Summon turrets and a giant space dog (seperate abilities) I'll go into summons later

Dog Shepard Class
You have two main controllable summons Momiji and Miku, they scale based on level and gain new abilities at 5 and 10
Momiji is your tank, he attacks nearby dogs who are attacked and has a vanguard passive, when he dies he takes a nap and comes back

Miku is a healer, when she dies she can't be resummoned until combat ends

Controllable dogs both have a throw and jump with boundary ignoring trajectories. You can throw/jump to areas you aren't really intended to throw things into. When an invisible wall is blocking the usual throw/jump paths the spell is given a sky high trajectory to simply circumvent said walls as shown here, this allows you to be more creative with how you play out certain fights. You can also use this to throw your Fleet admiral out of range when enemies are disabling your Marksmanship passive

-Chicken Attack Drones
You have two drones, a blue and white chicken. The white chicken attacks whatever you or your dogs attack, the blue chicken attacks whatever attacks you or your dogs. These drones are Invulnerable, ignore triggers, and do not enter combat. You can and should reposition them frequently as the spell to summon these costs nothing

All other summons are uncontrollable beyond drones and Momiji/Miku. Your uncontrollable summons come with instant-turn ending attacks and blazing movement speed to keep turns short, here a clip of the drones and dogs fighting on their own as well as showing how drones can be repositioned mid-combat

The Blue Chicken allow summons to "Deal damage" even if they are just getting one shot soaking up hits over and over by attacking whatever is attacked
The White Chicken will the majority of damage scaling. Shown here each beam at level 12 is doing 5 damage while each Focus Fire hit only does 1, its important to keep these in range. The drones Ignore line of sight, but beams can't go cross map or anything

Your bread and butter summon are Elemental dogs, these dogs are unsummoned if you are not in combat, and unsummon when combat ends. These use your bonus action. These dogs are your toolbox which allows you to deal with situations as needed since you are a solo class, you can see here the first dog goes away as it wasn't engaged in combat, this is to prevent having 20 pre-summoned dogs as that would be a nightmare to try and balance

Spawning projectiles in this game is very finnicky, shown here,  arrow spawns just go into the floor. If this happens the floor arrows "explode" and deal damage anyway, but sometimes abstract surfaces (especially stairs and ramps) can cuck your damage a bit if the game can't figure out how to handle the incline. Drone lasers aren't actually projectiles so those work in basically any circumstance

This class has no feats, you start with four extra arrows and gain the other five at 3 5 7 9 11, you get passives at 2 4 6 8 10 12

This class is EXTREMELY squishy, you have a base HP gain of 1 per level, all your HP comes is really only from your constitution score, this is by design. Your personal damage output is extremely high but you have to make sure you are in a situation where you aren't going to die to a githyanki arrow afterwards. Dogs are meant to take all the hits while you stay in the back summoning more dogs or firing boundary ignoring projectiles until you are in a situation in which you feel like you can come out of hiding and unload on things with focus fire. The class comes with a built in "Death-Ward" for a one time get out of jail free card. If this gets popped I highly suggest outright running away.

Play with this mod however you want. I won't be making any changes to the mod or checking up on it, I want to make my first Melee class (every class I've made so far has been ranged) and don't want to waste time updating this one. The mod is presented as-is, I have done four solo-honor runs(the runs are only 6-8 hours because I blink through all the non-combat stuff) which should be more than enough playtesting, I have fixed all the bugs I have personally encountered. If you find some infinite loop or some interaction with the spells that trivializes the game, if that's what is fun for for you then have at it!

This is intended as a solo class, difficulty modifiers come built-in with the mod, these are the settings the power-scaling and damage is based on, feel free to remove the modifiers if you want to watch the dogs solo everything or something funny like that, if you want to use party members you can use them, just be aware it might feel too easy if you do

I made sure the tooltips are all very in-depth and explain everything about the class, there is a lot of information not explained here, be sure to read the tooltips if you get lost or can't figure out why something is happening

Hope you enjoy the mod! I learned a lot from this in terms of how the game handles certain things and I'll probably do some culmination of all the Melee classes I make whenever I do all the melee stuff I've been thinking about which are currently a weeb elemental swordsman ripped straight off demon slayer, a paladin that summons more paladins which summon more paladins, and one of those "flying sword" archetype characters where a bunch of flying swords zoom around them and they fling them at people like adele from maplestory or vergil from dmc
