About this mod

Adjusts thrown attacks to proc weapon effects such as poisons, dips, and enchantments (from Drakethroat Glaive). Also updates Sussur dagger to be better suited for a dagger throwing character.

Many weapon effects don't work properly when a weapon is thrown, namely coatings (such as poisons and oils), dipping in fire, and elemental enchantments.  This mod seeks to correct these issues.  Currently, the following additional effects now work with throwing weapons:

  • Dipping in fire or poison puddles
  • Elemental damage from Drakethroat Glaive
  • Coating a weapon in poisons/toxins, wizardsbane oil, combustion oil, oil of diminution, oil of bane, oil of combustion, oil of freezing
  • Additionally, poisons now cause damage when thrown, with the die value of the damage depending on the poison applied
  • Boo now properly triggers blind when used with Frenzied Throw (previously this only worked with a normal throw)

The Sussur dagger has been slightly modified to function better for a thrown dagger build:
  • It comes with the bound weapon enchantment, so that it doesn't disappear when thrown, as it has a tendency to do
  • The silence effect is no longer a static DC, but is now a Weapon Action DC, to keep it more relevant in later gameplay
You may have to spawn the Sussur dagger in your inventory if you already have it in order to have these changes reflected.  The UUID for the Sussur dagger is:

Sneak attacks now can activate when throwing a finesse weapon, even if you are not wielding a finesse weapon in your main hand.  So it is now possible to sneak attack with a dagger, even if you're unarmed or wielding a non-finesse weapon.

Divine smite now triggers with thrown attacks.

Known bugs:
  • Drow poison does not function correctly.  The sleep effect is immediately ended after being applied, as if the game triggers a wakeup from the damage caused by the throw.  For this reason, the updated throw code in this mod doesn't include drow poison.

Compatibility with other mods:
  • This mod is compatible with any mod that does not modify the throw or frenziedthrow portions of the spell_throw file.  It will not function correctly unless placed below a mod that alters this file.
  • This would also be slightly incompatible with any mod that alters the Sussur dagger.  The changes to thrown effects would still work, but Sussur dagger changes would be overwritten if they are loaded after this mod.
