Changelogs
Version 1.2.2
Fixed description text
Version 1.2.1
fix mod not working due to numbers in .pak filename
Version 1.2
added to all cantrip lists instead of just warlock/wiz/sorc
2024 update: this mod is effectively abandoned, anyone who wants to take it over has my permission to do whatever they want with the files
Adds a Lightning cantrip to the Bard/Cleric/Druid/Eldritch Knight/Sorcerer/Wizard/Warlock spell list. Uses the Witch Bolt animations. Scales as cantrips do.
3 Options: Default - equivalent to Firebolt, dealing 1d10 damage with a range of 18m, but it does not interact with surfaces Variant - 1d8 damage, electrifies water same as Witch Bolt does Multi - instead of increasing damage dice, add more projectiles at the same rate as Eldritch Blast
In addition, there is a "replacer" version under Optional Files that replaces the Poison Spray cantrip. This means any character that knows Poison Spray will cast Jolt instead. This is for the sake of compatibility with other mods like 5E Spells.
if you uninstall the non-replacer version from an existing save you will probably break it. You might be able to get away with respeccing into a different class before uninstalling
Compatibility:
The normal version is not compatible with mods that add cantrips such as 5e Spells. You will only get the cantrips from 1 mod based on load order.
Update: The replacer version is probably broken in the latest version of the game. I suggest trying this mod instead to integrate the normal version into the spell list: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/2577
The Replacer version is compatible with anything that doesn't modify the same spell.
Changing the Replaced spell: If you want to change which spell is replaced you can use this Export Tool to unpack this mod, open Spell_Jolt.txt and change the first line: new entry "Projectile_PoisonSpray" , then repack the mod
Other spell names are either Target_X, Projectile_X, or Shout_X e.g. "Target_Friends" , "Shout_BladeWard", "Target_ShockingGrasp"
