Firstly, we need to explain how the loot tables work in this game. When you kill something, it pulls from its loot table, a number of times equal to its Iteration Min/Max value. Normally, this value is set to 1 of 1, but can even be something like 1 of 4, which means it will pull from the table between 1 and 4 times, chosen at random, each time you kill that entity. Next, depending on the entity in question, it will either have direct items on its loot table or, in most cases, it will have a number of tables, within its loot table, to then draw from. For example:

  • Fake Loot Table
  • Raw Food
  • Cooked Food
  • Knowledge Book 1
Lets say the Iteration for this table, is set to 1. That means, it will randomly select either 1, 2, or 3, and then roll on that table once. If instead the iteration was set to 2, it would roll 1, 2, or 3, then randomly select an item from that table once, and then roll randomly 1, 2, or 3 again, selecting another item from that chosen table. In the event that it already chose something from say the Raw Food table, it would not be able to select that item again, if the second iteration also rolled for the Raw Food table. Make sense?

Alright, so now that we have a basic understanding, we have gone and set the Run Chance and the Iteration Run Chance of every entity, to 1.0. This ensures, that every single table assigned to those entities, rolls at least one item. That is where the 100% Drop Rate mod stops however. It only ensures every table is rolled off, once.

Now, when it comes to the x2, x5, x10, x25, and x50 versions, we went one step further. They each still have the 100% drop rate from above, but now we have changed their Min/Max Iterations as well as the Min/Max Multipliers. Whats that you ask? Well, firstly the Iterations. This is simply how many times we try and roll for loot. Most entities roll between 1 and 6 times. That item then has a multiplier applied to it, based on that roll tables values for the chosen item. Most of the time, this will be a Min value of 1 and a Max value of 1, so that you only ever get 1 of that item. In the x# Versions, we change the MAX value of both the Iterations as well as the Multiplier. This will give us a nice variance of loot obtained, without being too crazy. So if it previously had a Min/Max Iteration of 1:2 and a Min/Max Multiplier of 1:1, in the x10 version, it would instead be 1:20 and 1:10 respectively, resulting in randomly getting between 1 and 20 rolls of loot, and for each of those items rolled, we would get between 1 and 10 copies of that item, instead of just the base 1.

Hopefully, this all makes sense to yall, though we doubt you even read it. ;p

Notably, the multipliers will NOT take effect unless you start a new game, or when a new entity spawns. Existing entities will have their same loot tables, from prior to the loot mod being used. Please do NOT complain "its not working" if you have not bothered to read this notice...
