As I said, there’s a lot to get into, so I won’t waste your time with a long intro!
Upcoming Homepage Update
We will be launching a new homepage with a refreshed design built on the new framework. Mods are now more prominent on the page, moving them above News.
One of our primary goals is to encourage and nurture new mod authors on the site, so we’re raising the visibility of mod author rewards on the home page.
Here is a sneak peek at what it looks like:

The new page framework will allow us to build some fantastic features, such as a customised logged-in home page, showing a more personalised home page with content that is more relevant to you.
Mod Comment Search
It’s been a long time coming, but the mod comment search has finally returned! Some severe underlying data issues made this more technically complex than we initially thought, which is why we had to remove it temporarily. We’ve done a lot of work behind the scenes to ensure our new implementation is robust, high-performing, and helps you find the information you need.
We will be improving this further by adding a button to jump directly to the comment in context, but given how many of you requested this feature, we didn’t want to delay releasing it while we worked on that.

Site Redesign
As some of you may have seen in the forum thread for feedback on the new website changes, we mentioned we’d be providing you all a more comprehensive list of changes we have already made and plan to make off the back of your suggestions. So, here it is:
General Design Updates
- Game Hompage
- More flexible filters in the ‘Mods’ and ‘Media’ sections. You can now select from 30 options, like “Updated - 14 days” or “Popular - 24 Hours”. Where previously there had been 7 tab options like “Popular - 30 days” or “Popular - All Time”.
- Added a new Popular Collections section, highlighting the most used Collections
- Mod Listing Page
- Filters have been moved to the left, and the page is now wider. You can collapse the filter to view 6 mods per row.
- Sorting by ‘Last Updated’ now correctly returns updated mods within your selected time frame.
- Added a new ‘Show only updated mods’ filter, which, when enabled, removes mods without any updates.
- URL parameters now include all filter and sort options, allowing you to bookmark your preferred view.
- Image/Video Listing Page
- Updated to match the new mod listing pages.
- Updated to match the new mod listing pages.
Search Updates
- A new ‘All Content’ search is available.
- Quick search options were added for ‘Games’, ‘Collections’, ‘Images’, ‘Videos’, and ‘Users’.
- A recent searches feature has been added.
- Wildcarding on keywords for better search accuracy has been implemented, meaning popular searches that didn’t work before now do (e.g., “stalker” finds “S.T.A.L.K.E.R”).
- Improved search for non-alphanumeric characters; they now return results with those exact keywords in the mod title (e.g., “F-16” and “Pip-Boy”).
- Enhanced keyword recognition for games; popular keywords will now return their game counterpart (e.g., “fo3” now returns “Fallout 3”).
Ad Reductions
We’ve reduced ad placements by 40% across the new homepage, game homepages, and listing pages by removing the left and right-column ads for free members.
Here’s What We’ve Added Since the Rollout
- New site preference: You can now select your default search (from ‘All Content’, ‘Games’, ‘Mods’, ‘Collections’, ‘Images’, ‘Videos’, and ‘Users’).
- Fixed quick search issues: Including auto-scrolling to the top of the page, opening when it shouldn’t, and not correctly scoping by game when it should.
- Bookmark option: Has been added on game home pages.
- Tracked Content Updates: Have been moved to the Tracking Centre and added a game selector.
- Improving the Collections section: Displaying only collections with a high success rating and recent votes while slimming down the section.
- Increased the resolution of trending mod tile images.
- Custom date range filter.
- Fixed issues with notification links.
Stuff We’re Exploring
- Improving mod search further: Searching for keywords in mod descriptions (in addition to titles, which is the current functionality).
- Adding the ‘Mod title contains…’ filter: Bringing this back to mod search listing pages.
- Adding more site preferences: Expanding options for the game homepages and listing pages.
- Making better use of specific artwork: Enhancing background images on game pages.
- Updating the News section: Implementing a new slimmed-down UI and removing the homepage site preference for this.
- Fixing some links in the navigation: Resolving issues with 'My Mods' and other links not working properly when scoped by a game.
- Fixing some issues with search: Ensuring keywords are retained and search functions correctly when entering no keywords.
- Widening the game homepage: Utilising empty space on the sides.
- More mod tile grid and list view options.
- Contrast and accessibility improvements.
- Applying default mod sorting site preferences to search.
Nexus Mods App: Stardew Valley Preview
You may have seen last week that we announced the preview release of our app, which currently only supports Stardew Valley. In case you missed it though, you can find all the information you need here in our dedicated news post.
The winners of the giveaway have all been contacted, and I’m currently sending out copies of Stardew Valley to them all. Thank you to everyone who entered and has said they’ll test the app.

Community Update
We’re committed to providing better support for our community, so we’ve expanded our team! We now have a dedicated Community Manager and Support Specialist on duty for eight hours a day, every day of the week. This allows us to respond more quickly to your emails, moderation reports, and general inquiries, particularly on Fridays and weekends.
If you see one of our weekend team members online, don’t forget to say hello!
Other Bits
- Payments are now available in additional local currencies, including:
- Vietnamese Dong
- Swiss Franc
- Czech Koruna
- Hungarian Krone
- Polish Zloty
- Swedish Krona
- We’ve also enabled local payment methods in South Korea, including Korean bank cards, KakaoPay, Never Pay, Samsung Pay, and Payco.
- We’ve improved the detection of potential virus/malware uploads.
- Mod comments are now limited to 5,000 characters, which has helped us bring back the comment search feature. Existing comments over this limit have not been affected but will need cutting down before they can be edited.
- Collections now respect Premium users' site preferences for 'per page' results and blocked authors.
Tech Talk
- Implemented a Mod Upload E2E Test Suite.
- Updated both Kubernetes and Playwright.
- Reduced load and improved performance on mod pages.
Eww, Bugs
- Automatic spam moderation: Fixed an issue where it caused some spam content to still be visible.
- Mod page statistics: Resolved issues where statistics were not loading correctly.
- Notification read/unread status: Fixed an issue where marking notifications as read/unread was not working on the first click.
- Hidden mod files tab: Mod authors were temporarily unable to view the 'Files' tab on their hidden mods.
- Unpublished mod pages: are accessible again without redirect issues.
- User profile block buttons: The ‘Block/Unblock’ button on user profiles now functions correctly again.
As always, keep your feedback coming; we’ll bring more updates next month!

When I click on an unread notification from the game page (which uses the new design), the notification is still not marked as read. That bug is still there.
If I click on an unread notification from an page using the older design this is not the case. It properly gets marked as read.
Also, my download speeds have gotten slower from Nexus. Probably due to the amount of traffic the site gets.
It's not quite the same, but I've always found the Mod of the Month page to be really useful for indicating quality mods, as well.
Still no comment from staff on re-adding the uploader name, author name, upload date or updated mod dates. So ill repeat where is this info ?
It doesn't fit with the others that are well proportioned.
