The Blades of Chaos are introduced in God of War and serve as Kratos' hallmark weapons during the Greek Era. The Blades, forged in the depths of the Underworld and personally offered to Kratos by Ares, were a symbol of the Spartan's dedication to the Olympians, as evidenced by the shackles linked to the flesh of his arms. The Blades of Chaos, widely dreaded across Greece, embodied Kratos' darkest period: a monster who murdered his own family out of bloodlust, transforming him into the famed Ghost of Sparta.
