Changelogs
Version 3.2
Updated the mod to 1.0
Added sliders to relevant mod options in the menu book
Version 3.1
Updated the default custom sound (vine boom) to no longer have a delay at the beginning of the sound
Updated how Posture parries work: Now, players can choose between 3 options: Slowed, Stagger, and Disarm mode. In Slowed mode, the target will become slowed. In Stagger mode, the target will fall backwards. In Disarm mode, the target will let go of their weapon and be stunned for a short duration.
The default Posture parry mode is Disarm
The settings for the slowed and stagger modes for the Posture parry type are lifted from the Slowed parry type and the Stagger parry type
Version 3.0
Completely overhauled the mod, changed name from "Dark Souls Parry" to "FromSoftware Parry"
Changed many variable names in the mod menu book.
Changed DS1 parries to "Slowed" parry and DS2 parries to "Stagger" parry.
Added Posture parries, which take after Sekiro. Performing multiple, consecutive parries will cause the enemy to stagger.
Added the ability to tweak the minimum parry velocity for each parry mode
Added sound effects from Sekiro, Bloodborne, Demon Souls
Changed how audio is played for parries (should be clearer)
Added the ability to change the volume of the SFX
Added the ability to insert your own custom parry SFX
Version 2.3
Fixed a bug where the parry noises for DS1 and DS2 type parries were linked together instead of seperate
Version 2.2
Fixed a bug where the tiered weapon velocity and the minimum weapon velocity would be set to the same thing
Version 2.1

Version 2.0

Version 1.9
Updated mod to be compatible with U12.1
Version 1.8
Updated the mod to be compatible with U12 and the menu book's mod page
Version 1.7
Updated the ds1ParrySlow tooltip for MCM to indicate that the value will be scaled
Version 1.6
Added the Elden Ring parry sound effect
Players can now change the sound effect that plays for a Dark Souls 1 and 2 parry. Options are DS1Parry, DS2Parry, and EldenRingParry (highly recommend using MCM to change this in-game)
Fixed a bug where enemies could move after a Dark Souls 1 parry
Added the option for shield only parries. The only way to proc a parry is if the player is using an item whose type is "Shield." Assuming weapon modders set this type properly, this should work for modded shields as well
Changed the scaling on ds1ParrySlow from 0 - 1 to 0 - 100. In code, this value will be divided by 100, so 10 = 0.1 (default value).
Version 1.5
Added tooltips and ranges for additional compatability with MCM
Version 1.4
Switched customization mod from Chillio X Menus to HuJohner's Mod Configuration Menu
Version 1.3
Added an option for the player to enable/disable the Dark Souls Parry mod
Version 1.2
Added Chillio X Menus requirement. Mod configuration can be accessed via the menu book
Added tiered parry. Players can toggle the ability to have min. wep velocity be the threshold for a DS1 parry, and then have tiered parry velocity act as the threshold for a DS2 parry

Description Upon a strong enough parry, enemies will leave themselves vulnerable depending on your version. There are four different versions:
Slowed (DeS, DS1, BB, DS3, DeSR, ER)
Stagger (DS2)
Posture (Sekiro)
Tiered
Slowed Slowed parries take after the most popular form of the parry from games like Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring. In this mode, performing a successful parry causes enemies to become greatly slowed.
Stagger Stagger parries only appear in Dark Souls 2. In this mode, performing a successful parry causes enemies to stagger and fall backwards.
Posture Posture parries take after the Sekiro games. In this mode, multiple, consecutive parries must be pulled off. Once you perform the last parry the enemy can experience one of three effects, depending on what you choose in the menu book: - Slowed : The enemy will become greatly slowed (similar to the Slowed parry type) - Stagger : The enemy will stagger and fall backwards (similar to the Stagger parry type) - Disarm (default): The enemy will release their weapon and be stunned for a brief moment
Tiered Tiered parries are not from any particular game by FromSoftware. In this mode, performing a weaker parry causes the enemy to be slowed as per the Slowed parry mode and performing a stronger parry causes the enemy to be staggered as per the Stagger parry mode.
How to Use Do a parry as you normally would, however, whatever you parry with must be traveling above a minimum velocity before clashing with the enemy's weapon to be considered a FromSoftware parry. To be generous, this velocity is quite low, but it's a skill that takes getting used to. Basically all settings for the mod can be tweaked via the mods tab in the menu book.
Adding your Own SFX In this version of the mod, I've added the ability to use your own custom MP3 sound effect to use when you parry. All you have to do is take the MP3 of your choice and move it into the FromSoftwareParry mod folder. Keep in mind that it only supports one MP3 file at a time, so be sure to move out the default one I've provided. If you move in multiple, which sound it chooses is undefined behavior.
